29 desperate teams, only team that shouldn't be is Chicago - the rest of the teams were losers last year!!!!!!!!!!

Vancouver had a .500 record against the northwest, A winning record against central, and were marginally below .500 against the pacific.

So from the numbers as far as vancouver, the central was worse.

I know, conjecture is so much easier to argue than facts. Sucks, dont it?

- hugefemale dog77

Hey, I agree canucks are going to have a tougher time. No arguing that point. But what they lose in 'domination' (according to some) they will gain in travel time.

Canucks had the hardest travel schedule in the NHL. I think we will gain big time with a much reduced travel schedule (not to mention the time lost in changing time zones).

I think canucks biggest concern is the need to get younger. We are going to have to rely on less experienced players over the next few years. These young players are low draft picks to boot. Finding gems in that bunch is going to be tough.

Terrible isn't it?
You wonder why it's so expensive to see TOR or VAN games... our teams are propping up these deadbeat franchises.

They should have contracted Phoenix while they had the chance and taken Florida with them. The PA would never have agreed to it but it would have been the best thing for the game. They could have worked something out by increasing the cap and existing contracts by 107% (30/28).

Contraction of three teams is tough for the BOG to accept. Of the three (Atl, Phx, and Fla) I think you could have relocated two and contract one. Don't care which.

Winnipeg was a smart move. I think you could get another team in that Quebec - Ontario population corridor. That would give us 8 Canadian teams and 29 teams overall (with one spot to be filled at a later date when the NHL is in a better position to find a suitable city).

WOW! Did I ever tell you so! This whole thread is now nothing but a bunch of irrational Canucks fan babies spewing nonsense and personal attacks. It was very predictable.

I wonder if Vegas would post a prop bet for the over/under for how many games it takes for Torts to have his first media melt down??...)

It won't take long.

Our media guys can't wait. They are loading-up as I type. It's an opportunity for these clowns to be seen on a national stage. It's their big break.

Torts had two of his exasperated exhales (after a media question) already and we just had our first pre-season game.

It won't take long.

Everybody needs to take this picture and post it in every hockey site. Whatever it takes, this franchise needs to be moved. As a Leafs fan, like you Canuck fans, we're sick of paying high ticket prices, to provide revenue sharing to these garbage franchises. The NHL needs to be embarrassed over this!

It's been over 20 years since they've had a decent goaltender. They're always hacking and slashing contracts, buying over the hill talent, then trying to unload them. They're always battling the salary cap and outside of a handful of players, they're aging. Their defense is crumbling from old age, so where is the powerhouse there?
- PrinceLH

Seriously dude, thank you so much for the beautiful examples of the proper usage of the word(s); 'their', 'there', and 'they're'. Well done!

Hell, a Canadian Junior team could make more money then the Panthers/Coyotes/Hurricanes/Devils........................... What an embarrassment! I guess that us Canadians are forever on the hook for these welfare teams.

These might be the five most desperate teams, but the one that will end up appearing to be the most desperate team is the one that plays its home games in south Philly....as usual.....three losses in a row, and they'll "need" a new goaltender.....again....

A leaf fan calling a team out for a playoff drought??

You do know those first overall were 21, 19 and 18 years of age last season right?
While this year is certainly huge for that core of kids to start winning etc, should they have been carrying the team to cups already?

A little thought before posting woulda been wise on this one bro

- hugefemale dog77

Did you miss me putting my own team at #3? Tell me "bro", who is more desperate for success than the Oilers right now? I'm not calling any team out, just stating my opinion.

A little thought before responding would have been wise on this one "bro".

All is talk of division opponents is nonsense. There are only 4or 5 games against each team vs. 6 last full year and the teams for new division opponents only half get 5 games and the rest 4 which is a normal previous non division amount. What we have is more non conference games than before so looking at east west performances are as important as division match ups. I think Tampa has 3 more games against the division opponents this year than pre lockout so no big deal. As for desperate teams
5 Vancouver. Do they continue strong division play or drop down a notch to rebuild.
4. Toronto can they make the playoffs in a full season or do they do the Kessel vanishing act around game 60 as his one nut runs out of juice.
3. Edmonton is the rebuild complete after 5 years
2. Pittsburg Blysma and Fluery have their futures tied together too much talent for the playoff results
1. Florida can they put some fans in the stands or look to move to QC?

As for Tampa not yet the desperation but will be in the top 5 if they don't make the playoffs or a good run to a playoff berth.

Leaf/Canuck tickets aren't high due to the need to provide revenue sharing. They are high because they can be. As long as ownership can keep raising pricing and not affect attendance, they will. As long as people keep drinking $10.00 beers, the price will only go up.

Just cause you attempted to come off as not being a homer, your opinion doesnt become any more valid. And while the playoff drought is there; instead of coming off as a reasonable point, it just all seemed like such an incredibly transparent dig coming from a leaf fan.

I think alot of teams could be more desperate. I dunno, It's debateable depending on the parameters. It was your reasoning and logic on the first overalls that was laughably bad and nonsensical.

Also, quick tip, repeating the same sentence ive originally used against me isnt actually clever when there's no irony involved.
