Tell yourself what you like. You're clearly bitter because youre a fan of a relentlessly dirty team. I hope Shanahan takes a look at it and suspends Kassian for at least 15 games. - TheTaoOfSemenko
Shanahan is a tool, and he has his favorites. Not sure how he has ruled against Vancouver in the past, but if the Kassian was a Bruin, Gagner would have been suspended for 20 games by now. |

No but maybe a pick or prospect and jones for smith. Clifford would be noice too - Killbot460
Its easy for us to put deals on the table but honestly what prospect would they take in return. We dont have a lot of depth, I would gladly trade the rights to Rajala for Smith lol |

at the end of the day, it was a bonehead move that couldn't be stopped.
but aside from that unfortunate incident, they took a lot of runs at us without a lot of caution.
ebs got smacked a few times. hall got crushed his usual 2 or 3 times. nurse took a few. yaks took care of himself, but got ran twice.
I dunno. with the size of our team, it's gonna be strategy.
and then stuff like gags will happen - hugefemale dog77
There are few skill players out there that are not targets. Toughness isn't always a measure of fighting or hitting, but also how well a guy stands up to the grind. |

You suspend him for a deliberate and calculated attempt to injure an NHL superstar. It was worse than the Mcsorely and Bertuzzi incidents combined. - TheTaoOfSemenko

What do you guys think of Smyth this season? - Oilers4Life14
Has heart, but slow as (frank). Midway through the season, it's scary to think of how slow he'll be... I don't like having him in the Oilers lineup. |

You have to agree that Kassian was deliberately trying to concuss/murder/assrape Gagner. He was probably in the midst of a roid rage. |

Not a bad idea, now that we have no choice but to look at other options. I can live without Jones, even though i was rooting for him to come back this year, Joensuu is looking much better in that role. I know MacT said he was staying but I wouldnt be against putting Omark, Hemsky, and Jones on the block for a Center with size. I just dont know if any are available for what we have to offer. - benmacw
We might have to take chances on other teams cuts... just like we did with jones.
Didn't crosby play with a broken jaw? |

agreed.
but size and strength are a huge disadvantage.
I didn't say ebs or the nuge or gags are pussies. they aint. but they all get pushed around.
badly.
of course lots of teams have skill players getting targeted. but very few are filled almost exclusively with every offensive player undersized.
we've spoken ad nauseum how nice it would be to have a less skilled, but big, physical guy would be alongside nuge and ebs.
I think we're gonna see a lot of games like that this season. and it scares me |

So you forgot about the 4-1 beating on your women only a few days prior, remember the time we pumped 4 on luongo in 12 min after your GM made the decision that he was your keeper after 3 years of you twits doubting him? - benmacw
....................Preseason.
Frankly, if the Oilers failed to beat the Nucks in both those games the situation would be dire in Edm as you guys have iced the majority of the big guns while in contrast Vancouver is experimenting with youth, depth and goons.
Regardless of Lou's play, we have a very solid D, and those pretty little passing plays will be few and far between come the regular season.
Keep things in perspective... |

Playing with Hall will certainly help you out in that area... You're going to get garbage goals. Smyth is slow, and will be absolutely horrid if he makes it to mid-season. |

maybe not center but look at are problems in general... size. tons of big forwards go through waivers. give a guy a chance while we have injuries. Never know it may pan out. If not OKC here he comes. |

More of a team philosophy issue. With high school guidance counsellor Renney gone and Eakins in Im hoping they'll all have a different attitude this year. Hell, even Hallsy showed a lot more mean last year. Yak has no issues mixing it up. Really, only Ebs, Ga gnerand Hemmer are kind of pussies, and every team has a few pansies around. |

True, maybe, but at the same time you guys also iced arguably one of the best offensive lines in the game and a suitable defensive core that game, along with one of the leagues "elite" goaltenders, to say we should have won easily is taking a lot away from your pros who have been playing this game a whole lot longer than our young guys who had very little trouble beating them.
