He shouldn't have kept swinging, but honestly I can't be too outraged at Kessel. I'd rather have my star player face suspension than injury at the hands of facepuncher the mighty. - BulliesPhan87
I have been vocal about how I don't think there is a place anymore for the John Scotts and Steve Macintyres of the league anymore but what is Randy Carlyle doing?
He had last change, he didnt think it might be prudent to take Kessel off the ice with John Scott standing next to him like that? |

actually there isn't anything obvious about it. crosby without kunitz is a downgrade. Bennett has had a decent preseason but nothing to suggest he could replace kunitz on the third line. I understand people being excited about this young man but penciling him in on the top line is just idealistic. Its like a child with a new toy... not always the best toy, but it is shiny and new. - ChrisMS
Totally agree....
Counting playoffs, Chris Kunitz had 27 goals last season. If you add all of Beau Bennett's goals together from his college and professional career, he has 24... That's since the 2010-11 season.
I like Beau Bennett a lot, and think that he has the skill and vision to be a very good NHL player. But let's pump the breaks a little and just let things play out for a while. |

The first one was fine, the second one, well not so much.
That whole situation was a perfect storm of awesomeness. - Ryan_Wilson

Especially for a guy who is known to love his face punchers. Why on earth put Kessel out there in that situation? |

I'm the biggest pro Beau guy there is, but his opportunity is currently with the Malkin line and that is how it should be right now. |

Personally, i don't really care who's line he plays on, but he needs to be on one of the top 2 lines. The kid will be a pretty important cog to this team for the next few years, and i would rather see him cut his teeth consistantly playing with the top guys. |

I don't think it will be an issue. Even if Jokinen beats him out for the top 6 spot to start the season, it might last... 1 period? 2? Whats the over under with the way Bylsma changes lines. Jokinen adds a veteran presence to the left side up front, Bennett adds potential. Both add talent. |

I'm not so sure you've got me beat in that area.
Total agreement. I don't think he's at all disappointed with that either. |

Great deal for St. Louis. I wouldn't have minded having him back...especially at that price but kudos to St. Louis for pulling the trigger and still being patient. |

scary how much depth they have. They can roll out like 4 second lines. no true number one line yet... but tarasenko / schwartz could jump start that. |

My guess is, "Something something won't be intimidated." I mean, given it was a preseason game, the stakes were pretty high. |
