Surprised by the hall waiving - funmaster18
Considering that they could have waived Rosehill and got the same cap savings, I agree 100%. |

sure the approach can be frustrating, but to me, its pretty cut and dry
there's two ways to operate in this current NHL. either try your best to patchwork things while maintaining a playoff caliber team and hope for the best... or to suck for around 5 years and build completely through the draft.
there's really not much middleground.
personally, im proud to root for a team that refuses to accept losing and has only missed the playoffs in 1.5 seasons in the last long while. - Crimsoninja
And flip that 5 years of suck around. The Leafs sucked for 7 years, made the playoffs, and are very possibly on the outside looking in. The Oilers got to the SCF 7 years ago and even now aren't a lock for the playoffs, despite oicking 1st overall 3 years in a row.
Columbus took ten years and 3 GMs before they finally seemed to get it right. Sucking for 5 years is still no guarantee that you'll win a thing. |

If Laughton had outplayed Hall, it'd be one thing...but Hall looked better to me in the games that I got to watch. It's not as if Laughton came in and took Hall's job and there was no way to keep him off the roster.
Now we're gonna start the clock on Laughton's deal and play him between Rinaldo and another 4th liner, rather than let him get 20 minutes a night as the top line center for Oshawa, and likely be traded at the end of the year to a strong Memorial Cup contender.
But, hey...we still have a heavyweight fighter.

I really hope they have a deal cooking, and I really hope that I'm wrong and Hall doesn't get claimed. |

To be fair, in the last game yesterday Laughton looked good and seemed like a mature player from the sound snippets the commentators played (as in discussing with Hall where he was gonna be in certain scenarios) |

Almost, but not exactly. There's a 75K difference and whatever they're up to that just might make a difference. |

He did look pretty good last night, but Hall looked just as good. And Hall's looked solid in the games I have seen, where Laughton didn't especially stand out.
I stand by what I said earlier in the summer-I'd want Laughton to clearly earn a job as one of the best 12 forwards on the team...I'm not sold he did that in the games I saw. |

They're actually paying $75K more to Rosehill, according to capgeek.
After waiving Hall and Gervais(assuming they go to another team or the AHL, the Flyers will be $16,022.00 over the cap.
Had they waived Rosehill, they would be under the cap. |

If he clears waivers, he can be recalled without any other process...recall waivers are gone. |

Bissionette appeals his 10-game automatic suspension for jumping off the bench to fight. His suspension is reduced to 3 games. I bet Clarkson is feeling pretty dumb for not appealing his identical suspension. |

One huge difference is there's clear video of Clarkson leaving the bench and none of Bissonette |

I know, it's all confusing as to what the heck they are up to. I would think Hall is a much more valuable asset than Rosehill. |

True, but why waive the better player that probably has more value? Unless some teams would prefer a 2 year deal for Rosehill? Hopefully it will all makes sense when the dominoes fall, but probably not. |
