I'm glad Adam Hall is still available -- is he a journeyman and replaceable? OK, sure. I'll concede that point to anyone.
But for me, and I'm sorry if this irritates some people but I'm just trying to be objective: The Flyers are not the fastest team afoot. It behooves the team, as it is currently constructed, to win as many draws as possible, to be as defensively sound as possible.
Not chasing the puck is something that is underrated when your team has many other strong points. I think it's fair to say that this particular edition of the Flyers has enough question marks that having a guy around who wins 57-59 percent of his draws AND is defensively responsible is not as big a luxury as it appears. - AllInForFlyers

Halifax should move him now. They'll only have 1 more season with him, and they already seem like a very offensively capable team. - JAKEw1234
Doubtful that happens right away, probably will keep him see how things go and if they move him it'd be at the Q trade deadline |

Max Domi doesn't even last 1 period in his return to London. Given a game misconduct on an elbowing to the head penalty.

Not saying it did, simply saying in 3 years he'd probably want a big deal. Tampa may want to delay it by a year so they can set up contracts so they aren't all done in or around the same time.
He may not like it but as long as it's available for Tampa they have every right to use it to their advantage. - ob18
it all factors in on their calculation, of course |

Why would a team trade for Hall when they could of had him for free on the waiver wire? |

Only think I could think is a 3rd/4th line forward coming to the flyers so Hall would replace them. |

the hyperbole in here is very consistent over the years
why can't people like what the player brings and think said player fills a need without the peanut gallery claiming those people think he's clarke/orr/fillintheblank |

Yes, because saying a guy is a good 4th line center, faceoff guy and penalty killer and is harder to replace than a no talent fighter is the same as saying that the guy is on par with Sidney Crosby.
Yep. If it boils down to Hall or Giroux, gotta keep Hall... |

I agree but you have to look at post from the last day when we waived Hall....in here you would have thought we just put G on waivers.....my faith in the flyers brass they have a plan and have a back up plan.....if Hall would have gotten claimed off waivers, I'm sure we could have still picked another similar player off waivers....Flyers didn't think he was going to get claimed and he did not....they might know something after all....if they waived Rosehill he might have been claimed and the flyers did not have or did not like plan B....I like Hall but he replaceable. |

No, nobody acted like they were waiving Giroux. Most made the point that they'd rather risk losing Jay Rosehill, whose lone hockey skill is fighting, than a player that can actually play the sport, who is good on faceoffs and on the penalty kill, especially since they've been lacking a dependable faceoff guy on the PK for the past few years, since Blair Betts got hurt.
The other side of the argument is, that some people disagree with even carrying a guy like Rosehill in the first place. Because he doesn't protect star players from cheap shots, or really do anything else. Regardless of the Flyers wanting to keep a guy like that, some people realize that players like that serve no purpose outside of the side show of a staged fight. |

Could possibly be a condition of the Flyers eating some money. Say the Flyers agree to take $1.5mm of Meszaros' hit, maybe they demand the other team take Hall to clear a contract slot as a condition. |

you're getting an awful lot of heat over the hall/rosehill situation. I agree with your viewpoint and don't get what others are upset about. all you have to do is watch the 2nd period of friday's game and realize what hall brings. he was in 2 scuffles which he handled very well and sparked the team, killed penalties and was of good overall use on the 4th line. when can you say that about rosehill? other than a needless fight he really serves no purpose and his cap hit is bigger. sometime/often i wonder what holmgren is trying to do.

It doesn't bother me...I think it's an issue of priority in the organization and really prefer not carrying an enforcer or goon or whatever. That's what my view boils down to.
I don't think Hall is a vital player, or even anything special. But, given what is out there, I'd rather keep him than Rosehill and I'd rather keep him than signing Steckel or claiming Powe, because I think he's the best player of the three.
Holmgren figured that Laughton can handle the job, and he probably can, and they want to carry a heavyweight. I disagree with that last part, but there's other teams that do carry enforcers.
Hell the Leafs traded a good prospect(albeit an older one) in Joe Colbourne in order to keep Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren |

I'd be surprised if he's not. Because if the other team dresses a heavyweight, you obviously need to do so yourself, rather than take advantage of a team that decided to dress only 17 actual players... |

maybe... but we haven't had that player since betts was sort of healthy
so in my opinion i prefer they keep hall instead of a cement head and I prefer it so much it pissed me right off that he was waived
i am still a little ticked off today in fact
