Indeed. That's how I'm going at this.
We're all aware it will take some truly fantastic play to be even .500 before Gagner gets back.
So, rather then starting the year 6-2-1 only to end up in the bottom 5, this year it reverses. We bear down and come the new year, they start kickin on a nice little .615 winning %. |

I know it was only one game... but it was 1 of only 82 chances the Oil have to try get to ~95 points this year. |

And you STILL Haven't explained how he is clearly a top 15-20 goalie. Who brought up Schneider or Miller? Wasn't me. So no.... not next - sbroads24
http://www.nhl.com/ice/pl...&status=&viewName=summary
Dubnyk last year: 2.57 GAA & .920 SV%.
GAA was ranked 22 for goalies with a minimum of 20 starts.
Save % was ranked 13 for goalies with a minimum of 20 starts.
He was 14-16-6. (37 starts + 38 GP).
Since i brought up Miller, seeing as how he was a top goalie for a while:
Miller 2.81 GAA (32nd) and .915 SV% (19th) and was 17-17-5. (39 starts + 40GP).
Schneider:
2.11 GAA (7th) and .927 SV% (4th) and was 17-9-4 (30 starts + GP).
Based upon this information, Dubnyk is technically within the threshold of top 15-20. Schneider is even better. But neither goalie has been given the opportunity to play more than 50 games in a season as their "breakout" season was in a shortened length of 48 games.
You are welcome to a proper rebuttal with collective information supporting your claims. If not, you will be forever ignored.

Based on last season? Again the post that I questioned claimed he has been a top 15-20 goalie over the past 3 seasons. Now again you can go back and use a proper rebuttle with collective information supporting your backing of the post I questioned |

In fact in 2011-2012 when he has [played a career high 47 games he ranked...
Wins- 28th
SV%- 39th
GAA- 31st
So again, how over the last 3 seasons has he been a top 15-20 goalie? |

I never once stated anything about the last 3 seasons. However, two of those past three had the Oilers in last/basically last place with terrible defense and a lot of issues. I'm only referencing last season.
In 11/12, Dubnyk had split time with Khabibulin (sp?).
Currently, with last years statistics, it is a valid point for Dubnyk to be around top-20th goalie.
Perhaps you can expand upon your inclination regarding Dubnyks "lack of abilities to peform", seeing has how you are ever so incredible. |

If you took Pierre MacGuire, bashed him in the face with a frying pan two or three times, reduce his IQ by 40 points and made him grow a mullet, you would have Barry Melrose. |

I can't handle this Dubnyk save% poop anymore.
FACT IS.
He had good numbers. He is talked about as a leader. The Big Easy.
Do I lack faith in him at times? Yes. He doesn't always warrant it.
Neither has this overall team in the third period.
EDIT: I do believe he has gotten better and better we'll just have to see how the first 40 games go here...I really want him stop playing the percentages so much. Just 'cause you're big doesn't mean the puck will always hit you.
These fukking automaton goalies today kinda irk me. |

I'll admit three years ago Dubnyk was still green. Out of position and seemingly slow moving post to post.
That's what I recall about his game three years ago...when he was breaking into the league basically. |

I fully agree. I had to pull out the statistical numbers as he was crying. I've learnt my lesson and should have just ignored him like i do with most annoying people that come in here with nothing better to do than have pointless arguments.
Dubnyk has some things to work on. I believe he will put them together over this season. We didn't rush his development, but now we aer giving him teh chance to prove he is what we need. Goalies also depend on the skill in front of them. They can only do so much when continuously getting peppered. |

He's not a bad goalie at all. If he can carry the load full time and be good enough consistently has yet to be shown, that's all I'm saying here. The poster i originally responded too made it sound like he's been a top goalie for 3 years now which just isnt true |

Finally i can agree with you!!!!
Dubnyk is not a top goalie. Only last season did his stats begin to support the claim that he is around the top 20. I hope he continues his trend and improves in a couple areas. He had a rough first two seasons, but he had a terrible Oiler's squad in front of him.
It's similar to how Fleury is considered a top goalie, but yet he has/had a great team in front of him but he continuously had issues and struggled. If Dubnyk was in his position, then further claims against Dubnyk could be valid. |
