He could play all 82-games, and if Oshawa's season isn't over yet, he still can't step foot in the AHL. - Tomahawk
I guess they want to keep Laughton as long as possibly to lengthen the evaluation period. I'm not sure how much evaluating you can do if he's only playing once a week. |

That term is hilarious... it was originally coined in lament of goonery, opining for the days when hockey was graceful and skilled (aka more like soccer).
No idea when it came to mean 1970's smash mouth. - Tomahawk
Exactly. There weren't designated goons in the 70's. All those guys could play hockey, in addition to their fighting ability.
The true meathead didn't really exist until the 90's. |

As long as everyone follows the code of conduct and doesnt take a cheap shot at skilled guys, it's all good. - PhillySportsGuy
the true heavyweights usually do follow the code. orr did not want to hurt parros. Without parros, there's no need for orr. The toughest heavyweights need each other and have a lot of respect.
Most of the idiot tactics are from guys like kaleta, etc. |

Will they never learn?

Maybe they want to save him for the games where they'd be prepared to use him for more than 6-8mins? If Rosehill's in the lineup, that 4th-line is not getting a regular shift. |

I know. That was my thought originally when I thought Hall was sitting.
In the end, I think Hall gives them the better chance to win. |

Over/under .5 Rosehill fights? - PhillySportsGuy
Definitely over.
Motivation will be there......Rosehill juiced up being in the opening night lineup. Tough guys on either side might feel they need to "provide a spark" or whatever.
It's going to happen. |

Scheduled Scratches for tonight are Laughton, Gustafsson and Gill. - FLYERSROCK!
So Laughton, being the youngest, is in charge of getting the popcorn while Gus at least being of age is charge of getting the beer! I guess Gill is in charge of looming over reporters who say stupid things, cough, cough Seravalli, cough, cough. |

Its just one game, not really a big deal. If Laughton is kept on the roster and only plays 25-30 of the games that's a big deal. However if he plays 60-65 of them its not. I really didn't expect the kid to play 82. |

No, it's (frank)tards like him that put me in a foul mood. The team has yet to play a minute of a game, and you've got people fortelling of their guaranteed last-place finish because of the coach or the 4th line.
The coach has made 1 decision that has gotten good applause (Mason starting, get his confidence up, have veteran on bench in case) and 1 decision that, really, isn't that big, especially since some people didn't think Laughton should be playing anyway. And some people act like Lavi's the worst coach in the history of the NHL. I'd tell that person to refrain from watching Flyers' games until Lavi is gone. |
