Thanks to Gill, Kimmo and Streit. Pronger is included too, I guess. - Feanor
But overall I think Bill said the other day that they don't have players between 25 and 33, so subtract those 3/4 guys and they are still very young... |

Did Gill get any better as the preseason wore on?
Because he looked absolutely terrible against the Leafs. - Atomic Wedgie
No. I didn't see a difference. I'd rather have Raymond than Rosehill and Gill. |

Streit will not be a fan favorite. Just a theory I happen to agree with....

Goons started in the 80's was perfected in the 90's declined in the 00's and became obsolete in the 10's.
But back to the point that this started from someone saying 70's was old time hockey then the rebuttal that old time hockey meant a time before hockey was violent.... There was violence before the invent of goons and the bullies. Hockey was always a "dirty" rough game. Lots of slashes, pokes, trips. If it seemed more elegant its only because the game was slower. Less body protection meant lighter hits. And players today are just so much more athletic. - youarewrong[/quote]
Boy thats the truth, players used to actually use training camp to START skating and lose some weight. Heck, most of the Broad Street Bullies drank to excess and smoked like chimneys. Macleish was such a heavy smoker, he would even light up a cigarette between periods!

I'll agree with you on that. To me, he's very Matt Read-like. Perfect 3rd line guy. |

Yeah Gill never looked too great, but I'm still fine with him as an injury fill-in on the 3rd D-pairing.
I wonder why it took so long for Raymond to land a team. Seemed odd to me. Ton of speed and lots of skill. |

That was back when the game was played by men, men made of iron and brawn. They had to cut their own hockey sticks out of giant redwoods, and they had to sharpen their stainless steel skate blades using nothing the teeth of great white sharks, which they had to wrestle personally. |

He does have a nasty habit of looking great in fall, then fading into a brown stain by spring. |

No he didn't.
On a side note, as a result of his play, I haven't seen the word "pilon" on a hockey web site this much since Richie Pilon played on the Islanders. |

I follow the Canucks too because my schedule doesn't let me do more than listen to Flyers games during the week. I still don't know why they let Raymond walk. |
