i thought the habs would win it to be honest. Great back and forth game, both teams looked good. Too bad about parros, hope he's okay but i really don't want him in their lineup. Now we can terrorize the habs all year again. |

Of course they don't. That said, if you're expecting or hoping the Flyers lose tonight, why even watch the game or care about it? |

Just beware of Danny Briere, their new power forward. At 5'10, he is officially the tallest Hab (minus Parros) on the team by quite a wide margin. |

I have tempered expectations for the team this year, but I will cheer for them and watch every game. I will hope for the best, but If I were betting the house, I wouldn't be betting on the Flyers to do much.
I have a feeling Couturier will step up and become the #2 center on this team. Maybe in terms of lineup, but he will be the de facto #2. |

Leafs looked fast and skilled on their top two lines last night; they also went to the net really hard. Their power play looked really sharp -- really, really sharp.
The Flyers have to be disciplined in their defensive coverages and not turn the puck over in silly areas -- the Leafs' transition game is no joke.
The only prediction I have is that this game is going to be tough. The Flyers really need to be ready, here. |

briere was a big signing. The habs finally addressed their glaring need for a soft small panzi forward.
btw, in my fantasy pool i need a replacement for an inury. Do i go Brayden or Matt read? |

They are quite small. They can really skate though. |

Do you think Vinny moves to wing, or do you think he flat-out overtakes Vinny? |

Read is probably the safer pick. Schenn hasn't shown much in preseason, but if he finds chemistry with Vinny and reaches his potential, he could be very good. |

10 things that if they happen would utterly crack me up this year.
1. The Rangers score only 15 goals in their 1st 20 games, Hank demands a trade.
2. John Tortorella is arrested for assault after going postal on a Vancouver reporter who has the nerve to actually ask him a question following a Canuck loss.
3. Vinnie Lacavalier scores 2 hat tricks this season, both against the Lightning.
4. Sidney Crosby stays healthy, avoids concussions and plays all 82 games. He then sprains his knee in his 1st shift in game one of the playoffs and the Pens go out in the 1st round.
5. The Red Wings miss the playoffs, the Sens don't. How ya feelin now Alfie?
6. Pierre Maguire announces he is leaving his wife and is moving in with the true love of his life, Sidney Crosby.
7. Gary Bettman is traded back to the NBA for 2 used basketballs and future considerations.
8. The Devils finish with the worst record in the league in the one year they have no 1st round pick.
9. Laughton, Hall and Rosehill all have good seasons and Talbot looks fine as the 3rd line LW
10. Hal Gill steps in when Grossmann inevitably gets hurt and plays well, especially on the PK.

I'm not sure, but I think he will be the 2nd best center on this team by the end of the season. They may keep him on the '3rd line' though. The Schenn-Lecavalier-Simmonds line is not very good defensively. They may need to end up juggling the lines after a while. |

I would rather see:
Schenn-Lacavalier-Read
Talbot-Couturier-Simmonds
Better balance defensively and both lines should be able to score. |
