I would rather see:
Schenn-Lacavalier-Read
Talbot-Couturier-Simmonds
Better balance defensively and both lines should be able to score. - BiggE
I'd switch Schenn and Simmonds. I think Simmonds is a 2nd line player without a doubt. |

Wouldn't mind those lines either. I've voiced my opinion many times about moving Voracek from the first line to help balance the lines and give more scoring. No one seems to be in agreement with that. I feel Giroux can pretty much score with almost anyone on his line. |

That's surprising. I guess we should learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to the Flyers goaltending situation each year. |

Respect the flyers. I'd be happy with a point tonight. I hope we see a few good tits tonight....Cheers - clark_griswold

Actually, I agree with that -- I think the pairing of Schenn-Voracek has worked well. |

We don't need your negativity. It hurts the team. What do you think the players do before a game? They read Hockeybuzz! - PhillySportsGuy

I agree with this. Schenn played very well when voracek was on his line last year, if i remember correctly. |

They have worked well together. At the start of last season, Schenn had his best scoring streak when playing with Voracek.
I would also love to see a natural sniper like Vinny play with Giroux. All he needs his a little time and space. That's something Giroux can give him.
If Vinny plays with Schenn and Simmonds, he will need to be the primary puckhandler and set up man. |

They have a lot of flexibility. Read is really the key as he can play on either wing on any of the top 3 lines and fit right in. One interesting look could be:
Hartnell-Giroux-Simmonds
Schenn-Lacavalier-Voracek
Talbot-Couturier Read
The one thing that I think is important though, is keeping Schenn in the same spot as much as possible. If you are going to move a young, relatively inexperienced player to a new position, it would be a good idea to pair him with the same linemates as much as possible. |

Just beware of Danny Briere, their new power forward. At 5'10, he is officially the tallest Hab (minus Parros) on the team by quite a wide margin. - jmatchett383

You probably won't for the next 81 games either. I love the guy but he is pretty much a playoff specialist at this point. |

Yeah. They have pushing for Schenn and Simmonds to play together for a while now. They are both 2nd line talents, but just don't play well together.
I want Simmonds to simplify his game. More point A to Point B stuff. He needs to watch Hartnell when Hartnell is on his game. |

10 things that if they happen would utterly crack me up this year.
1. The Rangers score only 15 goals in their 1st 20 games, Hank demands a trade.
2. John Tortorella is arrested for assault after going postal on a Vancouver reporter who has the nerve to actually ask him a question following a Canuck loss.
3. Vinnie Lacavalier scores 2 hat tricks this season, both against the Lightning.
4. Sidney Crosby stays healthy, avoids concussions and plays all 82 games. He then sprains his knee in his 1st shift in game one of the playoffs and the Pens go out in the 1st round.
5. The Red Wings miss the playoffs, the Sens don't. How ya feelin now Alfie?
6. Pierre Maguire announces he is leaving his wife and is moving in with the true love of his life, Sidney Crosby.
7. Gary Bettman is traded back to the NBA for 2 used basketballs and future considerations.
8. The Devils finish with the worst record in the league in the one year they have no 1st round pick.
9. Laughton, Hall and Rosehill all have good seasons and Talbot looks fine as the 3rd line LW
10. Hal Gill steps in when Grossmann inevitably gets hurt and plays well, especially on the PK.
GO FLYERS!! - BiggE
8 is very plausible

Saw it last night with Taylor Hall from Edmonton's, who's playing center for them with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Sam Gagner out. He struggled a bit, which is to be expected, but they left him in the position, with the same linemates, despite the mistakes.
I think (and hope) the shift from center to wing is easier. But it might not be seamless. So you're correct: If you're going to do this with Schenn, they have to say that this is what it is and leave it that way, so he develops that way.

Perhaps, but lets give him some time. Hopefully after he plays 15-20 games on the wing he will start to look comfortable there as well.

I think you can be a fan and still expect your team to lose. I'm a fan of the Eagles and I expected them to lose badly last Sunday.
He's just voicing his opinion. I think it's more concern. I'll admit that I'm very concerned about this team. |

You'd think moving from center to wing should be easy, as it's more north-south and you don't have to cover as far down low defensively. But for some reason, some guys need to be centers. |

I see the opposite, I think that 3rd line takes away from the defense. If the Couturier line is going to be the line that is used the most, to check oppostion top lines. There's know way I want Simmonds on that line. He's just not very good defensively, and he turns the puck over too much. I want Read in that spot. |
