Im not at morning skate -- I'll get to arena around 4 PM today. I'm going with what ASF wrote and have changed lineup on game preview to reflect Hall starting and Laughton scratched. |

Yeah. It's pretty freaking awesome, actually. The entire GameCenter Live experience is well worth the cash, IMO.

I was thinking they could keep him until he turned 20 without playing him 9 games. Then they could send him to AHL? Not sure if that would work, but it's insignificant anyway. |
|
|
|
The thing with Laughton being scratched is had he really earned a roster spot out of camp he would be in the lineup tonight. He basically made the team by default. |

Unfortunately, I think it's based on age at the start of the Junior season. |

God, it's depressing watching athletes who were born after I had already graduated from college.

Technically Hall made the team out of camp too, paper waiver/demotion notwithstanding.
I, personally, would just ignore that Colton Orr's in the lineup and iced a 4th-line of Rinaldo/Laughton/Hall.
Season opener in Philly though... people probably want to see blood. |

Agreed. Had the Flyers landed Cleary Laughton would be where he belongs back in Juniors. |

I know this would be frowned upon by many, but is there a possibility the Flyers just keep him for the year, use a year of his ELC and send him down to the AHL? The AHL is probably best for his development. It would also give them a strong callup option later in the season.
Just throwing it out there. |

I think it's age by December 31. Laughton doesn't turn 20 until May, so no AHL. |

He can't go to the AHL at all until after the 13-14 Oshawa season is over, no matter if he slides or not. |

I think Rosehill is playing over Hall because the Leafs have some true Heavyweights. - PhillySportsGuy
Love teams like the flyers and Bruins for this reason. When the leafs play them it's old time hockey. Not whining about gooning like when we play the habs and they think it's a soccer game |

You probably won't for the next 81 games either. I love the guy but he is pretty much a playoff specialist at this point. - PhillySportsGuy

As long as everyone follows the code of conduct and doesnt take a cheap shot at skilled guys, it's all good. |

Fighting has a place in hockey, always will. But when it is of the staged variety done by guys who can't offer any other type of skills that is where I think most fans have the issue. |

That term is hilarious... it was originally coined in lament of goonery, opining for the days when hockey was graceful and skilled (aka more like soccer).
No idea when it came to mean 1970's smash mouth. |

He could play all 82-games, and if Oshawa's season isn't over yet, he still can't step foot in the AHL. |

I think (hope?) this is Laviolette muscling up for Toronto and that we'll see Laughton going forward (at least for 9 games). |
