I was going to say, I know the score was 4-3, but if it weren't for Reimer, I'm not sure we would've won game 1 either. - mykokes
Reimer plays against Ottawa, a team he has dominated in the past?
Bernier plays Tuesday against Colorado, a team from the west he's familiar with?
Bernier plays Thursday against Nashville, a team from the west he's familiar with?
Bernier plays Saturday against Edmonton, a team from the west he's familiar with?
Bernier plays following Tuesday against Minnesota, a team from the west he's familiar with? |

Difference being that Boudreau would have run for his life if Roy got on the other side. - Pecafan Fan
I don't think he would have. Boudreau's got a temper of his own, he just hides it better. |

I wouldn't say dumb. But it's got a rather short shelf life. - Pecafan Fan
Doesn't need a long shelf life. If they don't have a pre-determined#1 - and it doesn't look like they do - alternate until one emerges. My guess is that is what they do and they we will see Reimer on Saturday. |

Goaltending killed the flyers last year. They improved their d, their forward group is pretty darn good and their tending has improved. Montreal's midgets will still heavily rely on price.
Of the two teams, the flyers are a harder team to play physically. - Fakepartofme
I think the Habs were as physical as the Flyers were.
Philly showed me nothing last night. The Habs are a better team, and a WAY better team if Price picks up his play again.

What if neither really falters.
When was the last 1/1a situation that really worked. St. Louis I guess, but I am not so sure worked last year?

My guess is that it will be settled about 20-25 games in. Goalies like to get in their groove and hate sharing the net. Hopefully one of them takes total control. |

at some point they will have to make a decision
and its not going to be based soley on their performances either.
half of it will be how the team plays in front of them too.
they could have identical stats.. but if the skaters are more confident in one guy over the other then you gotta give that guy the nod 70% of the time |

opening day rosters = 30 teams x 23 spots

Used to see it all the time in the 80s. A bit of the 90s too. Fuhr and Moog...Lemelin and Moog.....yeah, I got nothing. |
