I agree with Boudreau on this one, it's not the coaches place to jaw at players on the other team...they have guys like Mcleod and Bordeleau that can talk with their fists. A lot of former players have transitioned well to coaching, but Roy is an ego maniac so incidents like this don't surprise me...

Its game 1 of the season, I see nothign wrong with this. He hasnt hurt them by losing a game, they didnt lose a playoff series from it. Its setting the tone and sending a message if anything.

People watch the clip and think hes an ego maniac, he coached one heck of a game, the vast majority did not see all the ducks shenagians that was going down that third period.

I guess there were no females around for Patty to take out his aggression on before the game.

In all seriousness though, the guy is a clown. I don't think he's going to do himself any favours with the refs if he acts like this in his first game.

Sure he is a hall of fame player, but as a coach, he's a noob. It's much harder to get rid of bad reputation than it is to create one.

How is this any different from another player sticking up for their star player. Wouldnt you want a coach who practices what he preaches.

Its amazing at how hypocritical some of the comments are....keep fighting we need to protect our stars, the code etc etc, but as soon as a coach shows some passion after a star rookie is starting to get cheap shoted left right and center, oh hes an embarrasement, fine him, suspsend him, what an egomaniac.

In most articles I read they describe it as a trip, but watching the video it's a pretty dirty knee on knee hit.

If the guy receiving it got hurt Lovejoy would get suspended 3 or 4 games since the NHL primarily gives out suspensions based on injuries and not bad plays. So he probably won't get anything because nobody got hurt.

Still, flipping out and attacking the glass isn't going to do anything. Roy should know better, it didn't work for his buddy Marc Crawford either.

Knee on knees are so tough to judge, Lovejoy is coming in to make the hit and Mac cuts away into the middle. It happens so quick sometimes the player should just take the lick and save the knee.

He isnt humble what so ever, but thats what made him so great for so long, always confident. The guy talks with blindy about winning and passion, it might be drinking the kool-aid when he speaks bc he is so confident whatever he says, but you sure do believe it
