Is it the smaller pads for Crawford? This loss is inexcusable! |

Not sure the Hawks were ever really all there to begin with...
 - prd797
They were...but too Hollywood on the rush....Saad, Sharp, Leddy all hesitating on great shooting chances...we don't get the all important 3rd goal....BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ugh, that was not good. Our soon to be 6M$ keeper got his @ss handed to him by a goalie a third the cap hit. |

Mental 'house of cards' Crow showed up tonight. Too deep in his net, shaky, and not worth his pay check tonight.
Steve Konroyd: It was a tough loss tonight
and they pay this schillllllllllllllllllllllllllllll |

How come you are not on hockey night in Canada with the broken record analysis. All NHL goalies are elite. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but just comedy the disection that continues to go on to qualify/quantify.
Let me guess, secretly all the Hawks whisper nice save...but not elite, - TrueGrit
With his Cup win and playoff performance Craw's earned my benefit of the doubt. Even if, it is true that in terms of talent, he is a little more along for the ride than the other way around. |

It's early, but 4 power play goals against in 2 games is not a good start. Last year they were able to overcome a brutal PP, because their PK was one of the best in the league. You can see their PP is already in mid season form - and no that's not good - so if their PK takes a few steps back this year, they're going to struggle this year. If they score a PP goal tonight, Hawks win this game. Inability to put the game away when they were given the opportunity came back to bite them in the a$$. |

Maybe because it is only the 2nd game, but it is hard to be pissed off after seeing how they just won the Cup. When it mattered most they came up huge going 16-7. But they look like they continue their trend of not putting teams away in regulation in the Regular season. |

I am going to be back in St. Louis on Wednesday.....Ughhh I hope Crawford gets his out of his ass by then. The Blues absolutely crushed Florida and look to be firing on all cylinders. |

Thought Saad played very well tonight. Should have had a couple points. Hit the post on one, Bishop robbed him on another chance and he made a nice centering pass behind the net to Smith who should have buried it because Bishop had no idea where the puck was and Smith shot it right into him. |

It would be nice to think that you can get a two goal lead and then just lock it down. Just not how it is in hockey these days.
1 goofy goal, then another goofy bounce on the PP...and there is a tie.
Flip side, Hawks have to find a way to score 3 or more goals. I am not one for the habitual opposition goalie worship....your best players have to find a way to score. It is that simple.
In fairness, PP was not horrible. They did have zone time, just could not score.
So far 3 out of 4 points....75% X 164 = 123 point pace. Keep it up boys. |

It happens; 2nd game of the season so I think it's a little early for all the anger being posted. Think they'll be more than fine.
Saw a post about the awful power play too. While yes they could have converted more unless I'm watching something completely different, the PP looks to me to be a lot more effective in that they are generating actual zone time, shots and second chances. So far it looks a lot different to me than the mess we often witnessed last season.

Anybody know what Kruger's stats were on the face off? He got okey-doked by St. Louis in the second period when he put it right through his legs which led to a good scoring chance and then he got beat clean on the first goal for the Lightening. He also lost another draw clean on the Lightening PP. |

Do everyone a favor and get some new talking points. I am convinced some may be incapable of any fresh analysis. Perhaps by Wed you can come up with an original thought...or at least a new one....Come on buddy...you can do it. |

Looks like someone has sand in their vagina. Lets not turn on each other already. It is only game 2.
How was that? |

The pp does look a little better. The pk looks a lot worse. Looking at the schedule I still think we will be fine, especially the 1st month. I am worried about Wednesday's game, though. Really could be a 5-2 loss |
