Eli, thank you for coordinating that outing, but Sundays are tough for me due to travel during the week. Appreciate the work on this, and hopefully I'll meet some of you face to face this year at a Hawks game.

On another note....I am not crazy. Hayes already being replaced by Smith. After a win, which seems odd considering Q's reluctance to change up a winning combination, but again...hayes didn't do anything to impress. So IF Smith can impress Saturday night, he may be able to get a leg up in what looks to be a revolving spot on this club.

Q could be playing the matchup game with these two. I want to see what Smith can do before throwing Hayes under the bus, on that note I would like to see what Morin can do in that same spot. My bet is it goes to the most defensively responsible of the three until the trading deadline. Then maybe the one of these guys moves down to the fourth line.

I have a feeling that Q will be in a "look see" phase for several games here with the newcomers tolet them play themselves either into or out of the lineup and that he is going to look for a consistent effort in each game their in that will go along with that decision.

Maybe just getting a player a game early in the season.

And, to take it one step further: Crawford or Khabibulin?

- StLBravesFan

Anybody's guess. My guess is that he'll start Crow the first three games since there is so much time between games to start the Hawks' season.

Though I am not attending, Eli deserves a thank you for taking the lead on HockeyBuzz night in Rockford. I have headed up festivities planning on several occasions in the past and it is like herding cats. Buy him a beer if you're going to the game!
- eburgio

Thanks!

Really, my ticket rep Ryan Woodrow is also owed some gratitude. Without him, this wouldn't be happening - especially with the Stanley Cup in the building that night.

If any of you out there are looking to go to an IceHogs game in Rockford outside of this date, feel free to contact Ryan either by phone 815-847-6383 or by email [email protected]. He'll take really good care of you.

So who is coming out to Rockford on the 27th?

I whole heartily agree. Great job Eli on putting this shindig together!

I wish you, Philco and eburgio were able to make it out. Hopefully someday we'll all be able to take in a game together.

Believe it's Crawford...shouldn't see Khabibulin until either next Friday or Saturday...with back to back to games.

the less we see of the vodka maniac, the better off everyone on this board will be. And people thought Crawford's glove was bad....just wait. .....

- SteveRain

Yes, yes, and yes. Nikolai can sit his ass right down on the bench and stay there. He shouldn't get more than 20-25 games in net anyway, as Crow played 57 games the previous two full seasons.

Thanks.

If I don't catch you in Rockford, maybe I will see you at the UC for the one or two times I make it there every season.

Looks like Ben Smith will be skating on the third line tomorrow according to Q. Saad, Shaw, and Smith ... the killer S's.

I wonder if this means that Nordstrom will be scratched. I don't think Q wants to play him and Kruger on the same fourth line. Bollig had a nice game so I doubt he gets scratched.

Major penalties or game misconduct?

I'm sure some Rockford natives would get the instigator.

Can anyone tell me if Joakim Nordstrom is only 160 lbs? He definitely looks to be at least 6'1" but he plays a lot bigger than 160 l bs.

For sure...doing the Bears/Hawks doubleheader Nov. 10...and just watching the Avs game...Steve Downie is A BEAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTEEEEE. Nice comeback he's made after a tough knee injury.
