Since there's lots of Avs talk, I'm going to go ahead and let it be known that I'm starting the Avalanche hate bandwagon. Whoever compared Roy to AV couldn't be more spot on, those fat-faced hypocrites aren't going to lead a team anywhere. I hope the Hawks knock them out of the playoffs for the next ten years. Steve Downie is such a tool, used to love Landeskog, don't anymore. If anyone wants to join me let me know, plenty of room

Phil, did you catch the Winnipeg game last night? E. Kane was a fargin' beast. Good game for Buff, too.
- mohel

I missed it Mo. I was at the Barrie/Missy OHL game....where i got a good look at Colts forward Andreas Athanasiou. He was drafted in the 4th rd. by the Wings in 2012 and he's a GOOOOOOD ONE. Reminds me a lot of Evander Kane.

I really lost a lot of respect for Landeskog last year. I guess they are turning into a real cheap team. Now especially with roy. I still like O'Reilly a lot, though.

It's pretty easy to develop a SERIOUS DISDAIN for a young, talented, increasingly BRASH opponent coached by an A S S HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE......so yeah...i''ll book a seat

Meanwhile, Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy thought otherwise, telling Adrian Dater of the Denver Post, "That was a great hit I thought. I don't know, I need to re-look at it, but I thought it was a fair check."

And, if the check had been Weber on MacKinnon, Roy would have had a tantrum on the bench.

- tredbrta

What else did you expect him to say? Did a single person from the Phoenix organization condemn Torres at the time for his hit on Hossa?

Given the fact that they are looking to be another game like playing the Blues, I would rather not face them in the playoffs. You would have a shot at the sweep, but how much damage could their gooning it up do in four games?

How about "To Tell The Truth or "What's My Line".
- rtang415

No Groucho on those: he made You Bet Your Life a terrifically funny show - the quiz part was just an excuse for his ad-libs.

Mine, too, but I saw some old reruns back in the days before cable - man those days sucked!
- mohel

Certainly more to choose from now - harder edged, good stuff.

But if you want funny from the "dead ball" days, doesn't get any funnier than:

Honeymooners
Phil silvers Show (You'll Never Get Rich)
Sid Caesar Show of Shows

The last had probably the most talented comedy writers in history: Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Larry Gelbart....

Evander Kane is really, really good. He's like Bickell but fast and good.

Groucho definitely was out there on the edge. For the times he was practically Richard Pryor-esque.

BTW Wiz...saw Ekblad play last night in Mississauga...he's FILLED IN BIG TIME and looks like Shea Weber out there...very balanced in terms of being a factor defending and attacking.

I made the AV Canucks comparison.... Landeskog is looking very cheap in big games. Consider me on board.

I think O'Reilly will be gone. Question is whether Avs will stay a "budget" team under Roy. Can he get the owner to spend big for D help next year.

Would really love O'Reilly on the Hawks. Not that it can happen.

Yawn. How about a simple "No comment. Need to review the tape." or, for once, a frank "the hit was borderline and Downie needs to watch it".

Q was pretty thoughtful in his comments about Keith's slash to Carter in the CF.

Rozy and Brookbank scratched tonight per Myers. Hope Rozy's not ailing.

Wow - Q really likes Kostka eh? He was a great signing and could pay off for exactly this reason, giving Rozsival some time off. I just didn't think it'd be after game#1.

He does seem to be the odd man out. Especially because he is so great as a 2-way shutdown guy that is so valuable to teams, and they have him playing wing. I think he can bring back a good return. They definitely need D you are right
