Holmgren has been in place since the 2006-2007 season.
I know its not the orange coloured glasses flavour (not a direct statement at you by any means), but how anyone could defend this being the most expensive NHL defense core is insanity in my eyes.
We will see what happens, but with Hextall in the fold, I think the writing is appearing on the wall. |

I agree he wasn't strong enough around the net against Toronto, but the puck was bouncing on the Gionta goal.
It shouldn't be minimized, as well, that if Streit doesn't make an offensive rush against Toronto, the Flyers would've gotten shut out.
There's going to be that, with him. - AllInForFlyers
I think LSchenn was more at fault on the goal. Streit had his man but as you say the puck was bouncing. |

I was talking more about your comment about over evaluating their own talent. I do think they wanted to move one of the dmen and still think it will happen but why give a player away if they don't have to. wait for the right deal |

Do I think they under the management of Paul Holmgren they have overvalued talent, and given out excessive deals you mean? |

Many flyers fans in general lack patience while screaming for patience in my opinion. |

No, Fans screamed for two years to trade JvR, then they do and he has success in Toronto and people rip Holmgren.
That's what she means. Fans expect guys to step in at age 20 and be all stars. It doesn't happen. |

I think its kind of a broad statement. I am under the belief that this team is 2-3 years out of a playoff spot as it is.
Or at the very least real contention. Just my thoughts.
Do I think Holmgren is the right GM to lead the operation? I honestly do not. |

I will say I am not thrilled about the makeup of the lines. Something seems amiss. |

The flyers need to send out a search crew to find claude. He has yet to show up for the season... |

As one of those people who somewhat was in favour of trading JVR, I wasnt suprised by the move.
I do think that many people, even those who wanted to move JVR, were suprised it was for a fairly one dimensional d-man like Luke Schenn. I'm not really one way or another on that deal, it was a hockey trade. |

With how the the first two games are going. It would not surprise me one bit if Jay Rosehill scores the first Flyers even strength goal this season.
Just seems fitting |

Well, actually, it does. With many players around the same draft numbers as Schenn and Couterier. It is not nearly as rare as it used to be. But, obviously, it's not the same for every player. |
