I think the Flyers should maybe toss Simmonds on the top line with Giroux and Voracek. Simmonds showed some strong board work and hustle and I think his aggressive forecheck will help create space for Voracek and Giroux. Hartnell doesn't have the same jump/speed that Simmonds has showed IMO. Place Harts on the 2nd unit.

Seems to have worked for the Oilers so far. Not saying that strategy is wrong, but there is no guarantee in any strategy.

Worth a shot

Those three were terrible for years and got their elite talent through sucking for many years. Detroit and Boston can win cups without tanking. Every team needs elite talent, but sucking for years is not the only way to get it.

I'm very curious bill as to why you continue to list rinaldo as a (maybe) on the 4th line in projected line-ups? Do you have inside info that says he may be a healthy scratch on any given night? From what I see this guy should definitely be in the lineup every night

He doesn't. Nobody's sure at this point who out of Newbury/Hall/Rosehill will be scratched. Rinaldo isn't part of that group apart from skating on the same line with whoever's left.

Maybe someone else brought this up. But why isn't Schenn on Vinnie's line? They seemed to work well together.

Also, they need a scoring line winger. I hate to say it, but maybe they should not have passed on Gagne.

Hartnell needs to show something, Giroux has to not be invisible, everyone needs to step it up. Seems like we have no speed up front, I know we have speedy forwards but they had no jump. The team needs to be a physical force, we have to many big players to be soft. I want to see Giroux to take the puck to the net more and just show me more, I haven't liked his play the first two games he is too good and needs to show it.

Not once this season have I listed Rinaldo as a potential scratch. It was Hall/Laughton for opening night and Rosehill/Newbury in games two and three.

Outside the first round, the flyers are a horrible draft team. we need better scouts or something because first round its hard to have a bad pick but after that our draft picks have been nothing. its out of the blue I know, but we might need to stop trying to get the best free agent all the time and just build through our system but that might take a couple years but snider wont stand for that.

Problem I see is we have no pure scorer. Everyone is a playmaker, Crash the net guy or Hartnell who is really not good for anything right now. we need a guy who can put pucks in the net!

Except Gagne is not Gagne of 5 years ago and not what I would really consider a scoring line winger anymore.

We need Giroux to show up mad. The thing I think we have all seen with Giroux is that when he gets mad he takes over games , we need that tonight. He needs to be the captain.

We need to find a way to get Rinaldo in the lineup more. I think this speaks volume about what he has become. I never ever see him take a shift off and feel that if our skill players played that hard we would be in better shape.

We need to give our goalies a chance to keep us in games.

We need to find a new coach if tonight is a loss.

Maybe they should not spend high draft picks trying to draft the nexr zac rinaldo because that seems to be a big part oftheir drafting strategy
