How come it seems like Grossmann and Meszaros start on D for every offensive zone draw? |

how in god's name does nathan gerbe win a one-on-one battle behind the net with grossmann? |

Giving Mezzy the easier matchups. They did it last year for him too (when he was healthy). He's more effective as an offensive d-man than someone starting in his own zone going against offensively better opponents. |

I love Zac Rinaldo. Streit gets caught on the rush, Rinaldo comes back and plays defense on the back check. After the Carolina rush, he draws a penalty in the corner. Give this man more minutes. |

It's pretty sad that you're begging for a point when the opposition has a whopping two goals. - AllInForFlyers
yup
there are just way too many players gliding/standing still to have any success out there. add to that poor decisions with puck and you get this mess we are all watching right now. I know its only game 3, but this just looks like a team that has tuned the coaching staff out. |

Fair point. I'm a math guy and I like stats in all sports. They offer a great new way to look at sports.
I don't like, however, people that watch sports with only an excel spreadsheet in their heads.
Lots of things that Rinaldo does aren't really tracked well. |

I believe in intangibles. I'm not saying that a player like Zac Rinaldo has no value.
I am saying, however, that intangibles do not outweigh production, when you've scored three goals in three games and the only win you've gotten in a game since training camp started was a split-squad victory in a shootout.
Goals, wins, two points in the standings. Nothing Zac Rinaldo has done in this game will outweigh the value of scoring another goal or two and winning this game.
