I believe in intangibles. I'm not saying that a player like Zac Rinaldo has no value.

I am saying, however, that intangibles do not outweigh production, when you've scored three goals in three games and the only win you've gotten in a game since training camp started was a split-squad victory in a shootout.

Goals, wins, two points in the standings. Nothing Zac Rinaldo has done in this game will outweigh the value of scoring another goal or two and winning this game.

I think the understanding of statistics and statistical concepts in sports is one of the great steps forward. I really do.

But, I have background enough to know, not everything that happens on the field of play is easily measured. That is true of ALL sports.

Those watching have to watch, see, record and add context. I'd venture that not all data analysts do all of those things well.

Hey, at least there was a price to pay for going to the Flyers' net. Actually, the Flyers have at least made themselves a little snarlier and tougher to play against in 2nd and 3rd periods tonight.... it's pretty much the only silver lining I see tonight at this point.

The positives thus far are the lack of scoring hasn't carried over to the regular season.

A boring, brain dead, awful team. It's going to be a fun season.

The Flyers are closer, (much closer) to the worst team in the sport, then they are to a playoff team.
