Paddock and Lappy as assistants. McCarthy let go to....per Dreger - nastyflyergirl
Cleaning house. Good for Lappy. Paddock is going to have to help Berube a lot. |

I was saying this yesterday...it's like I was speaking another language. - AllInForFlyers
Some people will never come to grips that hits and blocked shots = you don't have the puck. You don't have the puck = you can't score and you're giving your opponent more chances to score.
Unless Bogosian hands it over to you. |

I wondered when Paddock was getting in the mix. No way they were going to let him sit in a Wells Fargo suite while Rome's burning. |

Tough to win games when you're only shooting 2.4% at even strength. Berube should greatly benefit from regression. - bradleyc4

GM should be in hot water, too.
But the bottom line is, eve if they fire Holmgren, hextall or whomever they hire will still be taking orders from Al Davis. - Jsaquella

Big hits and blocked shots numbers are indicators that your team doesn't have the puck very often. - Tomahawk
Very true. But that doesn't mean that your team should stop blockng shots and hitting when it doesn't have the puck then, does it?

Of course, if you win the possession game AND block shots/hit w/ aplomb, that's good. But anytime you get 40-50 hits per game, or block 20+ shots, it means you're probably going to lose. |

Two of the top teams in the League last year, Boston and LA were in the top 10 in the League in total hits. Need to come to grips with the fact that being a good physical and shot blocking team, contributes to winning. |

at least we have something to talk about today, rather than rehashing the specifics of the weekend's poop show and the over/under on how many more games lava was going to get. |

hopefully this is what gets philly's sh*t together. Don't get me wrong, i hope we beat you 10-0 everytime we play, but i respect the flyers and the NHL is definately more interesting when you guys are in the playoffs as opposed to out of it.
GM should be next to go , as in yesterday |

Man, you don't have to convince me -- I wouldn't dress a guy who couldn't skate a regular shift for 10 minutes a night and score 6-10 goals.
If he can fight, fine. But if all you can do is hit and fight and agitate, the AHL's a good place for you until you can actually put the puck in the net. |

Hits can separate a player from the puck tho. and blocked shots have value. Winning hockey is not just about those things. they are just aspects of the game. |

It can be a symptom of spending too much time in your own end. But it's not fool proof. Have to look at each individual team on it's own. |
