Ain't that the truth. One question for Berube in which he replies, "uuhhhh, we have to play better team defense, uhhhh"

Lame work by the press.

My guess is Berube simplifies the system and tries to get them to play the style they played down the stretch last season. I would also hope that Gus gets a shot to play at some point soon.

That would be nice, they looked pretty good at the end of last season. I'm hoping Gus gets to play also.

No surprise there, he was Lavys right hand man.

Dude just stop..you wanted them to keep going the way they were? Part of it is lavys fault part of it is the players...firing lavy will hopefully adjust some of the players attitudes. Yes there are things that can be done to minimize a weak defense.

I think he's just making a funny.

He's done a decent job without have a Comcast with deep pockets that is willing to max out the cap every year or lost tens of millions buying out players he signed mistakenly.

I agree about the first statement. Ed and Homer owe us die hard fans some answers really if they care about this as much as they say.

Bout frankin time someone asked Ed call me Mr Snyder some tough and legitimate questions. I would really like to see Comcast put him out to pasture but that will never happen

RE: Gus.

I think we're waiting on a trade for that to happen. One of the defensemen that is currently on the roster probably won't be shortly.

That's the attitude you get from them for sure. Wish they'd come out and say it then.

Because he was around and they weren't going to retread Murray and the 'UFA market' for coaches is worse than the one for players at the moment.

I was VERY disappointed that Berube's new position did not include the word "interim" due to his lack of experience as a head coach, but, you know what, the more I think about it, it might be a productive move by Holmgren. If Berube is the "interim" coach then it takes a bit of the heat off of the players. They don't have to turn it around because if they don't Berube takes the hit. By saying Peter Laviolette is fired and Craig Berube is the new head coach, Homer is putting all the pressure on the players. If the players don't start playing better it is them that will pay the price - not the "interim" coach. He is saying turn this thing around now or changes will be made, and it won't be another coaching change.

Pretty much.

To me, it says they're going to find a more desirable candidate if/when they become available.

Berube's a company man... he'll get his day in the sun, and then get reincorporated when they bring in the big name everybody's looking for.

No, I'm actually fine with a coaching change. Something needed to give. But to me, the problems run deeper than the coach. Unless he was instructing his players to blindly throw pucks up the wall or make centering passes to opponents in their own zone.
