I know, right? When I pointed out that not scoring goals in the preseason was extremely alarming, it was like I was telling people that Krypton was going to explode and everybody should put Baby Superman in the rocket ship. - AllInForFlyers
For such an advanced race, why did they only have 1 escape pod on the planet?
Logistical Fail. |

Did the Flyers call Stevens interim head coach when he took over for Hitch? I think they did. - PhillySportsGuy
Yeah, and I'm not sure the players ever took him seriously after that. Some loved him like a father, but they sure as sht didn't listen to him. |

No team in the history of the world has ever gone 0-3 and had anything good come of it. If and 0-3 start means that the team is doomed and will be awful, they might as well just stop playing and rest up for next year. - jmatchett383
TBH, I think last year and the preseason factor in. We can recover from this start no question. |

I really don't know how to feel right now. We are only 3 games in. I think this team still has the talent to be a playoff team. They just need to have the work ethic. If anyone can give it to them its Berube and Lappy. Right? - youarewrong
They really aren't that talented. I believe the team is working hard. They just aren't able to win board battles or put together succinct passes to leave the zone.
Maybe it's the system, but they don't have much in terms of puck movers. |

He's also had almost a decade of coaching experience as an assistant. Guys have to start somewhere.
I'd prefer a guy with more experience, but I'm not going to shred the move before he coaches a single game. - Jsaquella
Same. And he has paddock to back him up and lappy has a TON of street cred |

I don't think Lavi's system is "pass the puck right in front of the goalie," or, "Throw the puck up the wall without looking as soon as you get it," or, "try to stickhandle through the entire team." - jmatchett383
if the forwards are too high up and three players are between them and the intended target all sorts of poop is bound to happen...i think teams use what nj did to us in the playoffs as a blue plan of how to beat us. things have to change. |

Since they were already thinking about it I'm glad they did it now instead of December |

The Borg... - wolfhounds
Ahem, the Borg assimilate other species, and add their qualities to the collective. The more apt comparison is obviously the Klingons from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

I think it had more to do with him being very passive. He never seemed to get annoyed when Hartnell or Briere would hook a guy in the offensive zone. |

Only 3 games in I know, but odds of this being a lost season are pretty high imo. I wish they would have named Berube interim coach. I'm thinking that next training camp, Hextall will be in charge with a new coaching staff. |

This is true. Wait til December and we'd be out of it.
I know Lavy's had a bad day but dear God what an epic fail by Bogosian last night. that was amazingly bad. |

Yes, the overall construction of this Flyers team is Holmgren’s mess – from the personnel to the cap mismanagement – but its downward trajectory tracks back to one guy: The Chairman of the Board.
But Ed Snider isn’t going to fire himself. He’s going to fire Paul Holmgren and replace him with Ron Hextall, because hooboy the Hextall/Berube tandem is the greatest bit of fan service since JJ Abrams added Khan to “Star Trek Into Darkness.” - Wyshynski
He's wrong though, it's going to be Hextall/Lappy. |
