No, he's the head coach. No interim - Jsaquella
Until Holmgren gets fired and Hextall finds another coach.

When is the last time a head coach hired internally worked out for this team? - nails
It depends on how you define success -- personally, I thought John Stevens did really well during his tenure, considering where they were when he took over.
He got fired, too, and I don't dispute they weren't playing well when he was let go.
But he did a good job, overall, for the three-ish seasons he had it.

Most 80 year olds are retired, luckily for us, Mr. Ed still puts on his hard hat and work boots every day. |

I didn't miss anything. I simply asked which two goals you were referring to. That's one. - MJL
Bolland's goal in the first game... Streit lost a foot race to Kulemin for a puck in the corner, then got man-handled physically, putting his d-partner and low forward in a really bad position. Puck was in the net almost immediately after. |

I really don't know how to feel right now. We are only 3 games in. I think this team still has the talent to be a playoff team. They just need to have the work ethic. If anyone can give it to them its Berube and Lappy. Right? - youarewrong
My answer is simply, why not? |

Should have named Dave Brown and Dave Schultz assistant coaches. Replace Holmgren with Brashear.

Beat in a foot race, and man-handled on the same shift? 5 million doesn't buy what it used to. |

That's what I am saying. The tending has been good enough to win if there are some goals. - Hextall271
They haven't been lighting it up back there either. Two bad goals last night, one on Mason (don't get you stick in so tight that your pad pushes it aside) and one on Schenn (Don't pass the puck up the middle or try to thread it through the forward's feet dunce). The first two games they gave up 3 and 4 goals.
They're just one of a fist full of problems but please don't leave them out. |

Matter of opinion there.
I would say that lava and Hitch have been better than any in house hire and I think you can keep going back way farther and find the same.

Only 3 games in I know, but odds of this being a lost season are pretty high imo. I wish they would have named Berube interim coach. I'm thinking that next training camp, Hextall will be in charge with a new coaching staff. - PLindbergh31
My thinking is that there are 79 games left and tons of time to turn it around. No reason why they can't. |

B-B-B-But he's good on breakouts...
He's like a poor man's Mike Green, and Mike Green's pretty horrid defensively. |

This is a true statement, and I'm not arguing that's what happened. That is what happened on that goal.
But I'll tell you what: Luke Schenn didn't have to get his arse knocked off the puck as easily as he did before that centering pass got sent back into the slot. |
