They need to get Eric Lindros as a stickhandling instructor.

Boom they can get rid of some NMC that way and start the rebuild.

So far, it sounds like Berube and Lappy are saying all the right things. I'm just curious to see it on the ice. And it's not gonna happen overnight.
- jmatchett383

True. I'm preparing to witness a few more losses before any kind of streak is put together. But if that's what it takes to create success in the long term, so be it

Incorrect. I want these players playing with half the guts Lappy had.

It seems like everyone is in agreement that this isn't all Lavi's fault and the players need to kick it into gear or else they may be subletting their apartments soon.

Yeah, but the first time he did that, he only missed a period.

Richards and Carter used to sublet their apartment all the time.

Still, Holmer doesn't really help by handing out NMC/NTC like M&Ms. Some players feel a bit too safe, unless it's renegotiation-time.
- PhillySteen

I think that may be part of the problem. Brand new contracts for 90 percent of team and they all feel "safe". I think Snider's comments will fix that. No-one will be safe if they dont turn it around.

I don't agree with that, but then I also think waiting until now was a pretty big mistake too. I don't think Holmgren's long for this team.

Per Carchidi's Twitter - "Guys need to be accountable. Lavy lost his job because some guys didn’t do their job. That’s going to change." - Lappy

I like how that sounds too.

- mcefalu

You (frank)ing tell them Lappy!!! Show this group of muts what needs to change

Change the....
Overstayed undisciplined shifts
Lack of fight on the walls
Stagnant predictable breakout

I'm liking that quote from Lappy!!

Just watched berube's presser on the Flyers site. I hope he really follows through and gets them playing harder with his new system.

To me its just frustrating because it seems to be turning into another evaluation year. That should have been last season.

I do not expect, and at the same time hope, some of the apparent "core" players of this team are not here next season.

I can deal with this season restoring a once proud identity, that has been lost. We will see if a coaching change is enough.

- flyer_nutter

Pretty sure that the indication is that a coaching change alone won't be enough.

The camp comments are a clear shot across the bow of the players. They're bringing in Berube and he's going to be the sheriff and if guys can't handle that, they will be goners.

This probably sounds a bit crazy, but do you guys think, if things get REALLY bad this year, that Giroux could be traded? On the one hand, I can't see it happening, as this team has basically hitched itself onto him, and he has a HUGE deal. But on the other hand, it seems like no one's safe.

Cannot see it, but I couldn't see Richards gone either. I hope if there is another major change in direction it's not Homer making the call.

They throw money at their problems... This is what eventually happens when you do that over abundantly and non-frugally

He has a NMC and no I don't think that would be wise. It's very difficult to find a No.1 center. Not to mention one in his mid 20's locked up long term.

Nothing is impossible with this team, as far as personnel decisions.

I don't think it's crazy. Richards and Carter being traded an hour apart, should show us anything is possible.

Giroux, Coots, Voracek, Rinaldo and Read should be the only safe forwards.

In the history of professional sport, have you ever seen a new coach who hasn't regurgitated the same cliched crap?

I'm not saying this as a criticism of them. I'm just saying their canned sound bites mean absolutely nothing.
