You know how many points you'll finish with making those changes. 27 tops. - mayorofangrytown
Other then deciding who is going to be the 3rd line Winger and who is going to play with whom. They don't need to make any roster changes right now. They need to fix how they play with who is here. And find out who is going to play and compete and who isn't. That's the problem with this team. 5'9" 180 Brendan Gallagher wanted the puck more, and wanted to get to the net more then the Flyers did. And he wanted it more just in general. That's it in a nutshell. |

The time was at the end of last season to bring in someone with a little more of a resume instead of bringing in Brube and Lappy, two guys whom I loved as players, but who have little or no coaching pedigree.
Now it's cross your fingers and wait and see if they can do the job. - 77rams
It would be the same for the guy with the resume also. |

i was pretty against the thought of him taking over, but i like what i hear so far. - Crimsoninja
Me too, but like the Leaf troll mentioned. What new coach wouldn't say the things that he said? What else could he possibly say?
I am excited, knowing that I may see something different from the first 3 games. |

I hear you, because there's a lot of risk in tearing this down -- I said it recently, but I saw Vancouver score three goals in 90 seconds against Edmonton. Edmonton's in Year 286 of their Unending Rebuild.
But I can't argue that this team, as currently constructed...I've been clear that I don't think it's all Laviolette's fault, and I do think they need more talent.
I don't know. Damn it. I can't believe we're talking about this and the season isn't even one freaking week old. - AllInForFlyers
I know what you mean for sure. If we do have the talent, we haven't showed it.. Vinny must be asking WTF did I get myself into? |

Right. And I think it's time that regardless of who that player is, including Giroux. fail to back check or miss a coverage due to watching the puck. You sit. Constantly getting outworked, you sit. No matter who you are, or how much you make. |

Stop it.. You're killing me LOL.
We could also just throw Flyers jerseys on the Phantoms.. Promote the ECHL team to the AHL. |

Berube's been a head guy (for a season, at least) in the AHL and has been an assistant for 7 years.
7 years!
John Stevens, by contrast, coached 6 years in the AHL and was an assistant before he got the head job.
I would submit that, qualification wise, Berube is every bit as qualified as John Stevens when John Stevens got his shot.
I'm guessing if Berube wasn't perceived as a meat head, the story would be "guy works his way through organization to finally realize dream of becoming a head coach".
Fact is, no one knows what kind of coach Berube will be.

Yeah, good luck with that! Full price, baby! - AllInForFlyers
A friend was just looking for tickets to the Sixers. (Don't friggin' ask me why. I'm reconsidering the friendship) My seats for the Flyers two years ago were $45. The same seats for the Sixers are $10 plus a discount code for I don't know how much for season tickets.
I wish I liked basketball more. |

Bag skate central as well. A few guys don't want to work.. the whole team pays the price at practice... soon enough, players are holding each other accountable. |

Here's what I do not get. If you're going to fire a guy three games into the season, why bring him back after last year in the first place?
Yup..... This nails it. |

No bigger meathead than Dale Hunter and he is a very highly touted coach although he only did one year 1 Washington. |

Ha! He had Barry Melrose for about a week, and the entire Oren Koules/Len Barrie debacle to deal with.
It's safe to say...Vinny's going to be...unfazed by Flyers craziness.

People are having a good time with Berube's background as a player, but I think it's worthwhile to note he's been at this coaching thing for awhile.
It's not like he retired last week and they elevated him to coach. |

That was a thing 30 years ago.
I'm not sure how you do that today. Not that Giroux's that player but he makes a guaranteed 8 mil next season. You want him to sit? He'll sit and give you no effort.
They trading him (NMC) or canning you? |

(frank)ing A right. If I were Berube I'd start off today with a bag skate. I'd tell them all that the line positions are up in the air starting today. Pick lines out of a hat. Whoever is showing they want top line duties will start that way on Tuesday.
Then I'd bag skate Coburn again |
