The next move I expect from the Flyers is to move Chris Pronger to assistant coach. Flyers played better when Chris was around the team.
This tweet gets my wholehearted endorsement - Jsaquella
Not sure if this would work or if it's a serious suggestion.
Wouldn't Pronger's status as a (technically) active player complicate this? |

I was wondering who would be declared assistant coach. Here's a question though.. How can we hire Pronger as an assistant if he is still on our roster as a player on LTIR? |

All those hits and blocked shots, and no wins?
It's as if hits and blocked shots do not correlate well to wins in hockey. |

That would work for me. I would like to see one of the players come off the ice after dogging it for a shift and have to look Pronger in the eye. |

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what he said. - Pecafan Fan
With the issues that this team has in it's level of competitiveness. It's top line and top players of Giroux, Hartnell, and Voracek have zero points combined after 3 games. And all the relevant issues. Bringing up Rosehill is simply asinine. |

As far as I can find, there is no rule that prevents an active or injured player from serving as an assistant or even head coach. |

the question that needs to be answered is, who is running this team? If it is Ed, then Homer needed to resign if this wasn't his call because whatever plan he has is now being undercut.
A solid, well run organization hires people in authority and lets them do their jobs. This is not the way to get out of the rut we are in. I want good, solid, hockey people making these decisions, not an owner who simply can't stand the way the team is playing like the rest of us. |

Do we seriously have to discuss all the elements of winning Hockey? Are you saying that hits and blocking shots are bad things, and is a part of why they're losing? When Nik Gorssmann blocked 3 shots on the same PK shift, that wasn't a good thing? |

They don't have to designate him as assistant coach. They can just let him stand behind the bench.
I don't think this is a reasonable suggestion as Pronger is still suffering from PCS |

I just don't think this team is a skilled enough team to run his system. They need something simple. Their breakouts have been so bad the last two seasons. It's not all on Lavi, but it's a problem that hasn't gotten better since the playoff series against the devils. - PhillySportsGuy
It just seems this team had stopped responding to Lavi, and that is when you know his time is done. There was a time when a timeout could motivate this team. Or a few angry words at the players got them going. I havent seen much passion out of Lavi for a bit, and I wonder if its because he lost the players. |

Laviolette changed a number of things system wise from last year to this year. |
