Leafs send down Smith and Devane. Recall Broll, Leivo and Brennan. Shaking things up. |

We were told in preseason that he was an excellent top 4 D and with the quality of his play, would make the Leafs D top 5 in the NHL again. |

I stayed out of that one. |

Howard,
If one could plumb enough depths (no code) or climb enough mountains to search for a fault in you, they would find your only one is that of being too kind.
I think in this case you've done all you could to help the boy. You've surpassed all expectations any of us could have had and have clearly been the better man. You have been fair, you have been just, you have been the epitome of what one in your positions (no code) should be.
Howard, it's time to admit that he is beyond repair. Don't blame yourself, it's a problem even the best medicine would not be able to fix. Ah to be a century from now where science has advanced to the point where he could be helped but in our bleak days one must learn to help oneself.
There is no other choice now. To give him another chance? Why? For what purpose? He will do it again. It's stronger than him. Blame must not be put on him for what he is but the responsibility of getting better must be and that is for his own benefit.
You must ban him Howard. Him and all of his alts/ It's the only way he will learn and be better for it. Sometimes one needs radical action to find the meaning of responsibility. While we all understand your good intentions you're no longer helping him by delaying.
Ban Stee Howard. Ban Stee, Not Not-Yan, any other ridiculous persona he may have adopted and set him free.
Set him free Howard. You know it's for the best. You know it's what you must do.
I remain yours (code) should you need me (code) at this time of difficult decisions.

They did a good job ignoring this little fun fact when bringing up how "good" he was then.
The last time Ranger was an NHL defenseman and a "top-pairing" guy as the media tried so valiantly to prop up was the second last placed Lightning that got them Hedman. A defense that looked like this...probably the worst ever assembled
Ranger - Meszaros
Steve Eminger - Lukas Krajicek
Matt Smaby - Marek Malik
Cory Murphy (who?)
90% of these guys aren't in the NHL anymore...hint |

What about his AHL performance last year, that was a key factor. |

in all fairness he was only in the AHL last year becasue the Leafs are so deep at D. Top pairing on any other team. |
