Yea there was a lot of uncertainty out there, and some sloppy play. They had a morning skate to work on the new system and thats it. I'm actually pleased, a lot of the mistakes tonight are fixable going forward. - Just5
You're more optimistic than me.
It was just nice to get a win when they clearly weren't prepared to run a new system. |

I'm surprised by the negativity in here. I dont know how you could expect them to look good tonight. I'm seeing a more cohesive team coming out of the zone. More support. There's definitely a lot of work to get done. - Just5
There were some positives in the game. But overall, the intensity still wasn't there. The Flyers aren't going to beat a lot of teams with that effort that they gave tonight. Regardless of the changes.

Newberry did a nice job the last game so I thought he should have been in tonight. I dunno, how about rewarding solid play with another game? - nastyflyergirl
Id play Newbury or Raffl over him. I dont understand why he dresses with no enforcer on the other side |

Really? I saw massive amounts of effort. It is the 3rd game in 4 nights. I dont think you can look or play at peak intensity with a brand new system installed. There's uncertainty and mistakes will happen |

What is wrong with them? Writers always want to be treated so well by athletes and get all upset when they are turned down for interviews.
I think the Flyers beat writers are the rudest writers I've ever seen. EVER |

I like when they phrase a question like "I don't mean for this to be insulting..." then they go on to ask some insulting question.
Thanks for the preface. That makes everything ok. |

Mason has looked really good thus far, playing behind a team that isn't playing well. That is certainly encouraging. |

Why not McGinn? He did well last year. Raffl will be up this year. |

I'm not saying it's alright for a player to punch a writer, but it wouldn't be surprising to any of us. |

I'm not overly concerned about the mistakes. I think that will get cleaned up. The Coach just got fired. I would think that they would've been more fired up. They've played 4 games and have been outworked in every game. Including tonight. And yes, you absolutely can play with peak intensity with a new system. They had one practice. I guarantee that massive changes were not made.

Why not McGinn? He did well last year. Raffl will be up this year. - LJF
I hope McGinn gets another shot. I'm more for the team-toughness concept than the sole-enforcer concept.
McGinn/Simmonds/Rinaldo should be able to handle most things on most nights, if need be. |
