Overview
One of the tastier events taking place during Wawa Welcome America!, the 24th annual Wawa Hoagie Day features a whopping 5 tons of hoagies and plenty of happy visitors.

Hungry Philadelphians and tourists are invited to the lawn outside the Independence Visitor Center on Independence Mall to enjoy a free hoagie, courtesy of Wawa.

The event serves as part of Wawa’s salute to the members of the military as well as fire and police departments. Enjoy performances from the USO Show Troupe and a special appearance by Food Network Chef Robert Irvine.

In addition to free food and entertainment, the National Constitution Center will be offering free admission all day, courtesy of Wawa.

History
The first Wawa Hoagie Day was commemorated with a free, 500-foot hoagie at City Hall in 1992. On that day, then-Mayor Ed Rendell proclaimed the hoagie the “Official Sandwich of Philadelphia.”

no. the colombian's been there forever and it is a mainstay. i think it was the first "new" one they introduced and went over really well so they kept it. i was hoping for a similar fate for costa rica.

cuban is good but when i want something a little more subdued i will miss the costa rican blend.

pumpkin spice has taken the place of the costa rican blend and i'm pretty pissed about it.

look, it's about the roasted chicken.

i'm wawa's biggest fan, i think that much is clear, but i've tried a few different varieties (and all that i need to try to make this grand declaration) and there is no saving this roasted chicken.

sriracha, pesto, chipotle, sauteed onions, any kind of cheese, try whatever you want and it's disastrous.

so in the sake of trust and full disclosure i have to admit that the roasted chicken is unsalvageable. stay far away from it. i am also fairly certain it primes the pump at unnecessarily high levels in regards to your colon and bowels. so there's that.
