Who is this guy Mike Sielski? Today is the first time I have ever heard of him. - MBFlyerfan
The Inquirer wants him to be their next John Gonzalez. |

Why? It's not like Gonzalez schtick worked that well. He got more attention on Tattle than he did in the sports pages. |

Yeah, well, I can't speak to that. But I do know they wanted another "young, personality-based" (read, flippant/snarky) columnist. |

Quick question bill, are you interested in writing for one of the local papers? You're just so much more knowledgeable and sensible than the clowns that currently write. |

Don't be ridiculous. The papers aren't looking for sensible, intelligent writers. |

There is a time and place.
Jeff Passan and Dan Wetzel do it so well for Yahoo! Sports, and then you have these morons writing for actual papers.
Hilarious. |

I am the exact demographic Gonzo is supposedly reaching out to, but I can't stand to read his nonsense.
I don't take anything he says seriously and I am not entertained by him in any way.
At least certain writers (while they can't be taken seriously) provide the reader with humorous antics. |

I agree and if Voracek stays with Vinny and Schenn that will be the number one line in reality, if Voracek goes back to Giroux that will be the number one line. Jake is the catalyst for both lines. I prefer him with Giroux and I especially like him on the point on the first pp unit. - flyerdude17
if G doesn't start scoring within the next 2 or 3 games, i think we'll see him back with Jake. i like them together as well. |

The directions they've taken I'm glad I moved out of the Daily Newspaper business. At least my paper is whoring for coin right there in your face and not disguising it as something it's not. |

A native Philadelphia area guy who was recently writing for the WSJ. Not sure why he left that gig or if he was shown the door.
Old interview with Sielski: http://www.hsj.org/module...o/detail.cfm?AskAProID=39 - johndewar
He is probably trying to be that guy asking all of the non fluff questions and I am ok with that really. but I just had an issue with the article that followed. it just reeks of "they yelled at me soooooo". to say Berube was doing nothing was strictlu about stirring poop up without any info to back it up. |

I just found it odd he chastised Berube for not disciplining Rosehill's stupid penalty before Berube had any kind of opportunity to hold him accountable. |

Scott Cullen on TSN on his idea for Jake Gardiner trades had this for Philly:
"Philadelphia - It seems more likely that the Flyers would want to move out a defenceman, but if there was a way to pry Sean Couturier out of there, and Gardiner could be part of the package, it would be well worth it." |
