Wow. 2000 sqft house with 3/4 acre and we pay 1900 $. - Flyersgod
I wish... but I cant complain because of my location. Fantastic school district, quiet nicer neighborhood, 5 minutes from Media, 20 from the Stadiums, 15 from the Airport, 15 from Wilmington, 10 from Jersey... |

They go up again next year. Its sickening.
Problem with taxes is that they always go up. Never stops. Thats my issue with govt.
Like we spent 1.2 million $ over the last 12 years on 1 dog walker for the presidents. Wtf... |

When I was fresh out of college I went to visit a friend in the Sacramento area and fell in love with California. The people there were so laid back and nice. Turns out it was because they all smoked pot, didn't work and lived off uncle sam, so why be stressed or in a hurry to do anything... lol. - youarewrong

Not that the rumors have any merit to them , but I wouldn't be categorically opposed to Big Buff. He's been a dynamic blueliner who had been top producer in the league over the past 5 years. He can hit, skate, move the puck with aplomb, clear crease and he features a rocket of a shot. Certainly the Flyers can use such things, no?
I know many have chided the player and made jokes about his weight etc., but I find it perplexing that he's so maligned and unwanted amongst posters (and bloggers) on H Buzz, as if the player is garbage, with no redeeming value and this could never change. Some may recall I've posted in the past, some views counter to that prevailing sentiment. I'm not here to lobby for trading for him, but I suppose I'm more open minded to the idea of Buff as a Flyer than most. One point I raised previously was that players can change. I posted about how Buff could potentially be motivated to commit more to his game and being in shape, especially with a change of scenery that would come with moving to a new team. People pretty much wrote off or ignored that notion. Well, Buff is still with the Jets, but by all accounts, he worked hard in the offseason and came into camp trimmed down and re-committed to his game. He's put in extra practice time with coaches and has a better, more workman like attitude.
The major point the Buff detractors tend to raise is the fitness level and attitude/committment level. I see people are still chirping about this, as if they are unaware thay there has been any change. If it is indeed true that Buff has committed more to fitness and to his game, wouldn't that address the major concern that people here have in possibly obtaining the player? What other concerns, if any, would remain, that would still make it not worth bringing in such a dynamic player?

I haven't seen most of my family in 10 years. Bothered me at first. Eventually I got to the point where I had to put my family ahead of others.
Not saying you should, just what I did. I throw up now when I visit the north. Its such a dump. - Flyersgod
I still have all 4 of my Grandparents and it would kill them if I moved away. I',m going to wait until, well, you know. Also, my wife's mom is a professor at UofD and she has sole custody of my wife's neice. Its just the 2 of them and we are important too them. They said they would move with us whereever we go, but the only catch is it has to be near a major university for her to work.... and the closest one for her subject area is Jacksonville. A little too far a drive from St. Augustine.
I work for a Major bank, but my degree is in Education, specializing in History. I have also considered Gettysburg as there is a work site in Hagerstown MD and I love Gettsburg and my family is from York... |

It's pure hypocrisy.
They acknowledge players on the Flyers have strengths and flaws, and accept both. But a player on another team excels at some things but also comes with flaws -- DON'T WANT. |

I would welcome Buff if he came, but I wouldn't want to give up much more then Read+Cousins+Meszaros. I can get over the over-weight stuff. Berube and Lappy would take care of that. Look at Hartnell. 7%.
But if they did that, they would really need to get some 3rd line players. Like First signing Gagne, then trading for another middle of the line 3rd liner for say Coburn. Of course you would get more then just a 3rd line player. Hopefully 3rd line player plus a high draft pick.

Local taxes are a deduction on your Federal tax return.
The only beef I ever have had with property taxes is if I'm not getting maximum benefit from local schools and services. |
