Never been a fan of Weber "period", I just don't think he should be playing as a defensemen in the NHL. |

Is it too soon to get our catchy fail slogans together for the draft?
1) Suck from the start for Reinhart?
2) Be terrible bad for Ekblad?

He's a fantastic hockey player but seriously dude another defensemen?
Although It'd be awesome if we could go
2014-Ekblad
2015-McDavid
2016-Day
All three got exceptional status from the chl, if that doesn't turn us into a cup contender then nothing will

I dont want Reinhart, as bad as it sounds I want Ekblad, I think he is by far the best prospect next year. |

I'd say talent wise that's probably true but Reinhart's a safer pick and we need help up front in the worst way possible |

i know, its why i hated the ritso pick, in a draft this deep, you usually dont go D in the first round, you go offense, weak drafts like this year, you go D in the first round. |

Ristolainen was the best guy available, he has better chance of hitting his potential than Horvat and Nichushkin.
I was a little upset with the Zadorov pick for the reasons you just stated. We passed up on a couple of very gifted offensive players for a guy who will likely be a 3-4 defensemen.
If you're drafting top 10, you go BPA. This draft has an influx of wingers and is short on high end C and D. There is a pretty big drop after Ekblad and Reinhart but guys like Draisatl, Dal Colle, Karlsson and Lindbolm will all be on the board. |

I would have prefered Nichushkin, I liked Mantha and Lazar late. I thought going into the draft Nichushkin and Lazar would be my dream draft. |

High risk pick, we needed someone a little more reliable/safer pick. We already took a huge gamble on Grigs, Nichushkin carries just as much risk and is also a KHL risk.
Looking at the ISS rankings:
2 Ekblad
10 Mckeown
17 Middleton
it's not a good year if you're looking for a defensemen... |

Maybe someone will trade up and overpay for our high pick if they are D deficient and want Ekblad. |

(frank) that, no way fans will want that pick traded after the poop we've been through. I will take one franchise forward to go please.
Also for what it's worth JT Compher has been absolutely unreal so far this year. I'm calling it right now, he's our future captain. Even the dude from ESPN loves him. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing though |

Man o'man they were some pretty bad highlights to watch, the goals against were horrific, the goal where Weber almost ended up in the goal was just priceless, Miller must have been wondering what the hell was going on. |

At least we have the olympics...brief moment where we can cheer for teams loaded with superstars...you know, unless you're from Latvia or something |

Yes, actually forgotten about the Olympics, will be a pleasant distraction, can't imagine to many Sabres making it onto any teams though, I guess guys like Vanek/Hoff will get spots, think Miller has no chance of getting starting goalie with the team in front of him. |

I could only bare to watch 2 periods of that sleeping pill until my eyelids fell prey.
What I seen once again was no urgency from most.
A ton of floating.
No motivation from most.
No finishing ability.
This team lacks speed.
Suffering indeed. |

Now it's Webers fault?
Yikes.
To be fair, the times when Weber is "in tough" is when he has been paired with Myers.
And if he is not paired with Myers, he then gets paired with a rook in Risto which he has not looked as bad with.
Weber isn't the problem in my view. |

Hoff will be sitting in front of his fireplace with a warm cup of Swiss Miss.
I don't believe the Germans qualified. |

Yeah, Roy getting injured when he was among league leaders and having a career season carrying the Buffalo offense is totally the reason the team got better. - theblueandgold
Derek Roy is an example of how stats don't tell the whole story. Getting points is great, but if you get them in a way that doesn't allow others to do their job effectively, it does no good. That's exactly what happened in 2011, and that's exactly why they went on the run they did as soon as he was out for the season. Thomas Vanek alluded as much, a couple of times. |
