Team management has to approach this the same way as if it was winning right now. Even if they were 5-0 or 4-1 this year, and off to a great start. They would still realistically be a move or two away from being a legitimate contender. The mix of the defense needs to be tweaked. And they need their young players to continue to mature. That would be the case regardless of their record. Any moves made need to be for the future. It's okay to trade youth for youth in return to tweak the mix. But don't trade youth for older players just to try and save the current Season.

The biggest reason why the Flyers are not scoring has nothing to do with personnel. In fact I'd put personnel way down at the bottom of the list at this point.

Hey, we can agree to disagree. This is absolutely the kind of lineup I've been looking to see.

They've tried it your way, with the lineup you've preferred with all the "offensive talent." Now, due to injuries and ineffectiveness and a coaching change, maybe some kind of trade at some point, they're trying a lineup I prefer.

Maybe the one I prefer won't fare any better. But I sincerely doubt -- and I mean that from the very bottom of my heart -- they're not going to fare any worse.

Grossmann has been playing extremely well past 2 games, him and Coburn have even excellent.
Schenn is the only other option and really he's done more right then wrong.

We clearly disagree on Meszaros -- he has been...you know what? I won't be cruel. He won't be missed in the lineup.

My initial emotional response to the trade was negative. But keeping an open mind, and watching L. Schenn play, they got enough in my opinion. And it was a very good trade for the Flyers. Schenn's slow start to the Season doesn't change that. I think JVR is overrated by many. Not saying he's not a good player. But with the importance of defense, and how hard it is to get quality young defenseman, I'm very happy with the trade.
