Reimer and Kulimen for Yakopov.
Reiner is better than Duby so please folks stop saying they are the same. Reimer was a huge factor for the leafs making the playoffs last season.
Kuli provides a physical two way game and has a 30 goal season under his belt.
Yak would fit and develop nicely with Bolland and Raymond on his line.
Ok... Discuss! |

Not a serious offer...
Most evidence points towards that 30 goal season was an anomaly. |

As sweet as it would be to get Jones, its not happening this year. Nashville will give him at least two years to prove his worth before even considering moving him. - nated81
I think the right package could persuade them to though... They need offense, which Yakupov would definitely supply. Add in Marincin and possibly a draft pick, and that would be hard to pass up. Overpaying? Yes... Does it make us a better team? I believe so. |

He used his free hand to impede RNH. There was a slight tug and the the push. They have been calling less than that for the past 4 years. - nated81
Slight tugs don't get called in OT. If he had connected with RNH's head I could see the possibility, but the tug was microscopic. |

As much I like what I've seen, they're bound to break soon. The D was pretty shaky last night, as it was all season. I really believe they're been lucking out as much as they've been good.
Also because I think Roy is threatening them with a round Uday Hussein-type of torture if they fail him. |

Well that remains to be seen. But by the end of the year, with yak gone were down to eberle and brown on the RW. But we will then have jonesmarincin/nurse/klefbom/Davidson/gernat/Larson/musil as prospect d men...
I think our position of strength with then be lopsided. A knee jerk reaction to duby's terrible start isn't a good idea in my opinion. He's a good goaltender, let's let him prove he can work through some adversity. It's good for him! - JShack
Marincin would be gone... Either in the Jones deal or another deal. Hemsky would be on RW as well. Ebs and Hemsky on the RW... Joensuu can also play RW. Arcobello can play RW... Acton, Brown etc. |

Which goalie could the Oil realistically get that would fit the bill without sacrificing too much? Would it be someone that might get run out of town (like Miller)? Or is it some dark horse that no one's been considering? |

I think we'd have to overpay to get the players we need though. Especially Jones in Nashville... I think they'll want a lot to get him out of there. After years and years of talking draft picks, I don't care about those anymore... I want to target guys who I feel will make us better now. Yes, it would probably be viewed as overpaying, but mostly because of the 2014 draft picks, and I really don't mind forgetting about 1 draft in order to make us a better team now.
The D isn't bad, but I believe it would need to be better in order to do a little damage. I want to trade from an area of strength (offense - Yak) to strengthen our D (Jones -- Who appears to be a (frank)ing beast)... Man, Jones and Nurse together on the back end... *Drool* - laughs2907
I would be on the same page as u. Say u want ebs or yak. Gernat and musil or marincin
What goalie would u go after? |

the nuge needs to add some muscle if a wee lil shove sends him flying to ice that easily.....either that or stop taking diving lessons from hall. |

Just saw on the Toronto news that Devan Dubnyk tried to commit suicide by standing on the road in front of the ACC in front of an oncoming bus....but the bus went through his f'''n legs!

To me, he punched him the back of the head. 2 for roughing.
Sens got called for one just like it last night.

That's unfair to state. He played under pressure in the worlds for Canada and you can't blame him for posting a .920 save % during losing season. He's never had a good team in front of him. 4 bad games isn't enough. Watch us get back to .500 by the end of this road trip. - JShack[/quote
I don't think its unfair. He just hasn't faced pressure to win now |

RNH did a nice job of making it look like it was his head. Gotta give him that. Until you see on the replay it was the middle of his back. |

I agree but it would have to be a massive over payment to persuade them. I would love to see Jones in an Oilers uniform but not if it meant giving up Yaks or Ebs, Nurse and a first. Now if it was Hemsky, Klefbom and a 3rd and 4th....pull that trigger. |

Not sure, it was pretty inconsistent but I feel like that isnt much of a call. Franson gave him a shot and it looked like Nuge went down fairly easily. Not really enough to call in OT imo. I think the worst was when Orr had a questionable holding call, then when JVR merely got body position on the oiler's dman, they called that. That was brutal. - pbrsimps
I was more referring to the stuff during the rest of the game. Considering what they were letting go during the game, Nuge getting pounced on in OT was a non-call.
They no doubt tried using make-up calls, but what a pooptily reffed game... |
