You know, if you guys aren't going to play him, we'll gladly take him offer you hands
What's the deal though? Is this like grabo-caralyle or has he really been that bad? - Sabresfan-365
Eakins is the only person ever who wanted to sit him I thought he was okay he definitely was not the worst though |

I only read thru about 20 pages or so of this thread, but this doesn't look too promising, I know he's upset, but WTF??

We should have taken Ryan Murray... I said it way back on draft day and I still believe it now. |

Hopefully this lights a fire under his ass and he starts training/playing harder/better.
had eakins not sat him I would've done this for the lines
hall-rnh-hemsky
JJ-arco-yak
perron-gordon-ebs
gazdic-acton-brown
Also Biron and some other garbage were put upon waivers. Maybe the oilers claim him |

I can see them offering a trade. The oilers need to upgrade their defence and goaltending. They have too many young small skilled wingers. Its hockey and trade could possibly help both sides.
Also this is a rumor forum... if you don't like you can hit the big red X on the top right - Killbot460
So lets get rid of our biggest RW for... Lehner. Youre all idiots. It might be a rumor forum but that doesn't mean your rumors are worth a damn. You're all making something out of nothing, over reacting to a poor start in net.
E5: oiler fans want yak (FIRST OVERALL PICK ONLY 1 YEAR AGO! IS ONLY 20 YRS OLD!!!!) gone because he likes to have the puck and isn't overly physical. Considering putting him on waivers. E5

Don't always agree with you, but this!
We have one glaring problem at the moment. Duby is not making any saves. Stop with all the rest of the ridiculousness. |

its really annoying to see his development! he needs (frank)ing consistency, no more than 12mins agame and consistent line-mates! oilers, imo are ruining yak!
or were the scouts right about him predraft? - munky123
tarasenko is playing 3rd line mintues in st louis but apparently theyre not misusing him. if 14 minutes per night isn't enough to get the best out of him, he should do a stint in the AHL. But unlike the rest of this board, i just think he's off to a slow start and he needs some time to restart and gain back some confidence. We're 1-3-1... its not like were killing teams on the score sheet. He's a second year guy, give the kid some time to grow. |

All of these debates are somewhat redundant. On paper, Dubnyk is better than a lot of other goalies. I think the talent is maybe there with Dubnyk but the mental focus is not there and he clearly does not have his head in the game right now.
I cannot stand Dubnyk but I'm pretty sure he is better than Joey MacDonald. The thing is, MacDonald is in the zone right now and he is a competitor. We need someone in nets that will compete for every save, every minute.
Dubnyk is just "ho hum, we'll get 'em next time". I hate that, I wonder if he even feels bad by his performances recently?
We need to find someone who HATES losing, and hopefully has some skill to back it up. - JLO961 as far as his attitude, I dont think dubs is like that.
I met the dude. To be fair we were both loaded at the club in vancouver, but he didnt come off like that at all.
And It wasnt just a brief 'sup dubnyk' either.
I drank with the dude for ages, gave him sh1t for the nights loss, expressed my concerns about him long term etc....(all in a mostly non douchey way or he prob woulda punched me out )
But i found that he's touchy about being attacked, hates to lose, thinks he's got the talent to be the guy and Cares alot about this franchise (although hes not always in favour of our fanbase..)
I wouldnt mistake lack of confidence for indifference.
Guaranteed he's not stoked on his performance thus far |

Im not giving up on him yet. Our management shouldn't make any kneejerk reactions to this roster. If dubnyk doesn't workout this season, there are a plethora of goalies on the UFA market come next summer. |

No, we trade Yak to Nashville for BBC
Can you imagine Jones and Nurse on the ice at the same time? That's a whole lot of BBC and I doubt any opposition can handle it. |

Don't mind Iggy... He's just on his period.
The yogurt thing was probably the most useful thing I have ever read on this site. |

Murray might not have even been the best D in the draft, and he hasn't made much of an impact in CBJ yet.
I think everyone's overreacting. Yak's played just over 50 games. We're getting too uptight with what happens in a small stretch of games. |

Eakins is my dream coach! This is the kind of coaching that wins championships. It would really suck if Yakupov took off for Russia, but it would only suck because they drafted the wrong guy. It is better to have a selfish player gone and lose all of the potential than have a cancerous attitude in the room...and by the sounds of some of those quotes he doesn't quite "get it" yet. "That's not my game, I don't like to skate a lot and hit a lot, I like it with the puck, etc. etc."
Then GO GET THE F'N PUCK ROOKIE! lol
Love this coach more every day. - JLO961
*sigh* The sentence before he said he wants to be better without the puck and forecheck better. Anyone who's watched him has seen him hit guys and pressure guys. All he's saying is that he's not a grinder, and that's not the type of player he is.
I wish people would stop seeing a guy coasting a bit and then throwing him under the bus. A lot of goal scorers, playmakers spend time "floating" because they're trying to read the play and pick their spots so they can get in better positions to score.
This drawing of psychological conclusions about a player's "cancerous" attitude based on a couple of quotes from a guy who's not even that fluent in english is ridiculous. |
