and of more than a few others. Like I said, no offence. Personally, Id rather go for Reimer if they start looking for a goalie. |

and I greed with him is Lehner or nothing,Reimer is just another dubnyk,Miller is not the long term solution for the Oil,Bryz can be just a band-aid for the rest of the season. |

Dubnyk is 27 and has had more than enough chances to improve. He's a backup.
The Oil should look at someone like Elliott in St.L who wouldn't cost as much as Lehner and would be a significant up-grade in net.
I've been saying that the Oil have the wrong mix of Assets to be successful. Hopefully management is realizing this and will come up with a strategy to get the right pieces, meaning they'll have to let go some of the offensive young talent to get more of what is needed. I really think Lowe has got to go; he's much maligned and for good reasons. |

Sens fans. The absurdity of trading Yakupov for Lehner++ isnt the ++, its the fact that the Oilers are trading a 1st overall pick for a goalie in that scenario.
It isnt happening but if Yak goes out its a "Name your price" situation - Matt_Henderson
Thank you. |

More absurd that the Oil still think DD is starter material, as did most of the posters here before the season began. |

But so many Oilers fans, and the organization themselves, consider way too much of the team to be untouchable. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard when you look at the glaring deficiencies that have been ignored since this rebuild began. - Jeffmt
Not giving up tremendous assets for less than they're worth merely because some internet hockey fans are stomping their feet is neither stupid nor deficient. |

I wonder if Dubnyk will get an invite to the Canadian Olympic team camp - I mean last season some of the bozo Oiler fans said he was as good as Price & some even said last year they wouldn't trade him for Quick.
Yeah, goes to show you the stupidity of Oiler fans!! - newmy
Did Dreger tell you that? Give him my best. You (frank)ing retard. |

if the Oil do go for Reimer the offer is going to be very small,so if any leafs are expecting one of the Nuge/Hall/Eberle or Yak back in a Reimer deal then keep expecting for wayyyyyyyyyy more years because it won't happen. |

Yak in Edmonton or Alex in Montreal, yeah i'll take Alex any day & he's an absolute steal at #3 compared to the one-dimensional Nail who is already sitting in the press box as a healthy scratch.
But keep hanging onto all those small, skilled players because it's getting you nowhere, anytime soon!!
LMAO!!! |

I'd only be offended if the Oilers traded for Lehner and he turned into a Reimer...till then the status quo is making me happy |

I don't think the oilers will win many deals where they trade Hall, Nuge, Ebs, Yak and if they do, it may still not make the team better. For me it has very little to do with untouchability. |

Most Oiler fans would lose it, I would welcome it. There are to many people using the term "franchise player" with these guys. - doon
even 'star player' used in this blog is a pretty loose term for RNH, just saying |

Just how it is. Nothing against Reimer whom I like and not a dig against your precious Leafs. Just that Lehner has more pedigree. Nothing personal. - TheTaoOfSemenko
Define pedigree. He is younger, but Reimer has been good at every level he's played at. I'm curious because most Leaf fans feel the same way about Bernier vs. Reimer too. |

You were suggesting they trade Yak for Simmonds. So who sucks, the player or management? Keep moving the goalposts. |

Have we established that Defensemen can drape over and wrap up NHL Stars then punch them in the back to create odd man rushes? Is this a thing now? Because if so then I imagine the League should send a memo to the teams and inform them as such.
This has been beaten to death in here I am sure, but lets just go over some things:
1. Have we established that being bigger and faster is cause for an interference giving a team a 5-on-3? That's what happened to us with JVR.
2. Have we established that Eberle trying to hop over Bernier's legs and collided with him while he's trying to get back to his net isn't goalie interference? That's what happened on the first goal.
3. RNH fell about as easily as Kadri did on that play. Give me a break.
4. "NHL Stars" should get no special treatment on drawing penalties over other players. Hasn't diving been enough of a problem, let alone allowing any star to just fall to the ice and then the Ref's have to give them the benefit of the doubt? You're being ridiculous because you lost. |

You cannot watch Yak and put him in the Small Skilled class of forwards. He is a very physical forward. |
