We've already established that Reimer is a massive upgrade on Dubnyk and at a younger age, and you are going on with this nonsense. Are you ok? |

This has been beaten to death in here I am sure, but lets just go over some things:
1. Have we established that being bigger and faster is cause for an interference giving a team a 5-on-3? That's what happened to us with JVR.
2. Have we established that Eberle trying to hop over Bernier's legs and collided with him while he's trying to get back to his net isn't goalie interference? That's what happened on the first goal.
3. RNH fell about as easily as Kadri did on that play. Give me a break.
4. "NHL Stars" should get no special treatment on drawing penalties over other players. Hasn't diving been enough of a problem, let alone allowing any star to just fall to the ice and then the Ref's have to give them the benefit of the doubt? You're being ridiculous because you lost. - Compeyson
hey i'm not complaining about the lost or blaming Nuge for trying to do some magic to win the Game(I don't see a penalty on that play),I do blame the Oil Goalie. |

As much as I despise Dubnyk, I don't feel that he is entirely to blame for last nights debacle.
My disdain for him is well documented; however their was more then a handful of defensive gaffs that directly resulted in Maple Leaf goals.
Both Smid and N.Schultz were horrid... J.Schultz continues to make bad reads, (check his positioning on the OT winner for example). Not to mention the number of times that he followed his defensive partner to cover one man... Leaving the other wide open.
Anyone else ever notice that the Oilers lose every battle along the boards... Doesn't matter if its 5 on 1.. They will not come out with the puck. So facking infuriating...

No doubt... Dubnyk is a fooking disgrace to the uniform; but it does not absolve our defence-men of culpability in this loss.

The refs sucked but Edmonton got the better of the breaks. JVR's call was awful, the type call that rants are made of. Then after Hall's swan dive you guys had to know you weren't getting any more calls unless somebody got killed. Franson's little push was just a hard play, what do you call that, wasn't a trip, wasn't a hold he just pushed him off the puck IMO it was the only strong play Franson made all night.
The goalie interference call was weak to, dubi was out of the blue paint and ran into our guy. Reimer was drilled every other game like that last seoson and we never got a call. |

Not giving up tremendous assets for less than they're worth merely because some internet hockey fans are stomping their feet is neither stupid nor deficient. - TheTaoOfSemenko
Why are you convinced they won't get value for them? I hope the Oilers are at least looking at what's available for those guys. And yes, it's stupid to look at deficiencies in goal and on defense (mostly in goal) and continue to draft skilled forwards. I'm not saying they have to draft a goalie, but all those high first round picks would have gone a long way in a trade for one. You can deny it all you want, but there's an obvious flaw in Edmonton's strategy. |

I think it's fair to say that no one, not even you, expected Dubnyk to poop the bed as much as he has to this point.
Flawed?... No. |
