Theres alot of talk about Yak playing like crap. But he isnt put into a situation to succeed. Last year he was. He was playing with quality players. Now hes playing with dump and chase grinders. EDM might just ruin this kid and he ends up being Schremp 2.0 |

Schremp didn't have half the skill or a tenth of the passion that Yak has.
He will come back with a vengeance. maybe not scoring if he is still playing with third liners, but with more intensity and a simpler game. |

If you watched him play, you'd understand why people are saying he's playing like crap... We're not judging him on his numbers (or lack thereof)...
If you watched him play, you'd clearly see that...
~ He coasts waaaaaaaaaaayyyy too often
~ Zero hustle -- Will not battle for loose pucks
~ Does not play a team game. When he has the puck, he will attempt to skate through 4-5 players... Maybe that will work from time to time in the OHL, but not in the NHL, Yak...
Anyone who says Yakupov has played like crap is telling the truth. |
