See, I take issue with this. Both goalies had a bad game. The difference was, one team did what it took to win the game, while the other just wasn't good enough. It's not like Bernier didn't give up 5 goals himself... Oilers lost by one goal.

Hard to say all 6 goals were the goalies fault.

By team defence I meant forwards and defence....

And imo, it has been as big of an issue as goaltending.

Oil D is not a concern right now,the shots were 30 Oils 20 Capitals,the game before it was 31 Oil 26 Leaf,Goalie is the NUMBER ONE concern,plain and simple.

All I know is that the leafs (arguably) best all around player was left alone with a clear shot on net with under 1min to play.

Sure Dubnyk could've/should've stopped it...but Lupul should never have been able to get the shot off in the first place.

Not sure, but with how careful Walt was I was surprised he even kept the book at all. Just a minor oversight, but so costly. By the 4th season though, I was starting to actively hate Walt.

It was what it was, not what it should have been. The difference in the quality of goals both guys let in was very different. Bernier didn't let in any softies that I saw.

MacT and Eakins have very little to work with.... in time, it'll get better but there are going to be no overnight miracles...

We're still doing a decent job creating offence by getting more shots, and conversely defending semi-competently by not allowing a ton. Far below average goaltending kills that progress though, and our PP + PK have not been great. The progress at even strength is there though.
