I can't stand Philly, but they would be dumb to do that.

Thing about signing some random goalie out of the blue is I'd almost rather bet on Dubnyk and JL rebounding in the few games than said random goalie coming in and playing better. They're in game shape and historically have played better than a Raycroft or Bryz over the years.

I wish I could stay up to discuss the possibility of this deal with Philly but I accidentally took my sleeping pills when I was supposed to take my 9:30pm pills and I'm getting pretty tired. I hope when I wake up in the morning a deal is done but I doubt it happens.

IMO Simmonds is a perfect fit for both team and player and he fits in with there exact culture of being tough and hard to play against. It's pretty much the Same thing as Lucic

Kind of the same as Fleury.

I personally think Duby will stand on his head tomorrow.

The Leafs went through the same thing a few years ago when we consistently out-shot or out-played other teams but would lose. We kept trying to convince people we weren't as terrible as our record, but it's not an easy thing to do. You watch the d-men play so tight because they were certain any mistake would end up in the net. It just snowballs at that point. And conversely having a great goalie makes everyone confident.

You guys have a much better team than last year, IMO. You have some real nice pieces on the backend now, and a better bottom 6. But if your goalie sucks none of it matters.
