Goaltending isn't helping but their systems play is just as bad. A goalie is only good as his the system in front of him and vice versa.

There are a lot of guys who are in just plain old bad positioning or getting caught flat footed because they have no idea what is going on. It leads to high quality chances or chasing the play where the goaltending needs to come up big and it hasn't.

Its a cyclical thing.

To this day I am shocked that no team has hired a sumo to just sit in net.

He's 21 with like 15 NHL games and the team values Jordie Benn and nepotism over giving him playing time.

Yakupov has one of the best releases in the Western Conference and had 17 goals as an 18yr old in a 48 game season after going first overall.

To be fair jordie has looked really good. I'm not down playing his skill and ability, but throwing that 1st overall status around is kinda irrelavent. I mean I would take galchenyuk over yakupov and he was picked 3rd. I don't think oleksiak is worth yakupov straight up, but your acting like he just couldn't be the main piece of a deal for him and is a bust after 1 year and a few games.
