The only trade I could see working for Toronto and Edmonton would be:

Phaneuf + Reimer + ???

for

Yakupov + ??

Probably also include Gardiner on the Leafs side, as Eakins loves him.. No idea what you'd have to add on Edmonton's side to even it out, probably Hemsky min to balance salary, but beyond that, no clue.

I think Dallas Eakins is working on getting himself fired by xmas. It is not easy trying to play head games with millionaires. He may be right but is going to find out the hard way that these are not kids, they are already where they want to be.

Oilers don't need Gardiner though, and Reimer is pretty much Dubnyk. As an Oilers fan, that trade doesn't seem attractive to me at all.

There is a lot of things they need on the blue line. Reilly is exactly what they need

Was always surprised the Oilers didnt have more insurance than Labarbara for this pivotal year. But with MacT pursuing Schneider looks like they were at least trying to upgrade. Lots of good goalies out there the Oil should be able to find someone soon.
