It's a long list, but G, Timo and Simmons certainly aren't playing well. - jstross
Very true. Lock them into a room together until they remove head out of ass |

Phew the top prospect in the 2014 draft is a center. For a moment I thought the flyers were screwed. |

I agree, Ed looks like a tool right now. I think if they loose the Pens game a trade is looming - bigmookalookie
If they lose against the Pens?
They flat out aren't winning that game. |

I am a glutton for punishment I guess I'll watch them but if they are super out of it. Then I prob won't make any effort to try to watch them. Hate seeing them this bad for 2 straight years. God. The safest part to me is that by all rights they should be 0 and 7. Mason stole the game vs Florida. 0 and 3 with lavy. 1 and 3 with berube. - Hextall271
i just don't have any emotion about their current state. if this was a few years ago, and i'd be climbing the (frank)ing walls with frustration and anger. it's actually nice, being in the place of detachment. not something i'm trying to do intentionally, it's happened all by itself. might be because i'm north of 40 and i'm just mellowing or maybe i've finally realized it's pointless to get so upset about something of which i don't have any control. |

I realize some knowledagable hockey folks don't think +/- is important, but Coburn was a minus 3 and the Flyers lost 3-2. Something smells there. - jstross

Worthless POS should have been benched long before Meszaros. He has been poop for a long time now. |

OK. Deep breath. I was about to go off, but it's the internet and nobody cares.
Vincent Lecavalier will be back soon, and that will (hopefully) help. They played better tonight.
There will be opportunities to upgrade this team, with Timonen and Meszaros coming off the books and the cap going back up.
I'd like to see them be aggressive and get another scorer, but I understand all of those who feel the team should just wait, not burn any assets for a flawed team.
So, OK then. Just...gonna have to wait for them to get themselves out of it, or their replacements. - AllInForFlyers
there are many elements that are needed to get this thing turned around, but one that stood out in particular tonite was the atrocious passing...w/ a few exceptions, there were a ton of examples of plays dying and forward momentum squandered due to this issue. obvi, d coverage was an issue on 2 of the goals...mason still superb.

Esp with Niemi playing well, BTW I wanted Homer to get him when the Blackhawks let him loose. - bigmookalookie
he's really developed into a very good goaltender. even if homer had acquired him, we'd have jettisoned him by now. goalies don't last more than 3 seasons in a row here. |

What you said. I only yell during playoff games. It's been quiet and gonna be quiet for a while around here. |

Honestly the only one I care about at this point is Mason.
Guy is playing well, and for a goaltender who has confidence issues this poop wont help.
I dont know what the (frank) happened to the group of forwards who could all generally put the puck in the net. |

long list indeed ... the only one out there who looked like he knew what he was doing was McGinn. |

Out of the 3 goals, Coburn can only be assigned partial blame for one of those goals. And that's the Higgins goal. They have to communicate better. One of Giroux or Coburn needs to go and cover the slot. But Giroux does not belong on the post there. Giroux should've been in the slot.

McGinn showed enough last year and so far this year to stay up. Keep him on the first line for now.
Question is between Hartnell and Simmons I'd think Hartnell would go to the 3rd line over Simmons? - jstross
Yeah.. I'd like to see them reward McGinn and start decreasing ice time for the players who are sucking balls right now. He's been up for 2 (frank)ing games and he leads the team in scoring. That is pathetic beyond belief. Giroux is going to not only captain this team to back to back non playoff years, but right off of the Olympic squad. Beyond insane. |

I used to get on the D, but at this point its not even the transition game.
They cant get anything going in the offensive zone. For apparently a group of forwards that is supposed to be gritty, they really lose a lot of battles and cant bring the puck to the front of the net.
I'm not going to put all the blame on Giroux. Yes he is the face of the team, but maybe the (frank)ing organization should have learned not to rush a kid after the Richards fiasco.
Who else is stepping up? Even with extra effort/hustle? Tye (frank)ing McGinn. |

If they lose on thursday i'm not sure that the 7 days off is a good thing. On one hand they get lots of practice time, on the other they could dwell on the 1-7 start. |

Yeah.. the worry I have about Mason is that he's not getting any results. He has been everything we need as a tender so far... you can't win scoring 2 goals or less every game. I'd re sign him.. but I am expecting it will be Hexy doing so. |

How have they rushed Giroux? Because they gave him the C? That's just a BS excuse, and really has zero to do with it. He's just playing like crap right now. Plain and simple.
