Time will tell of course but lets not forget the kid was rushed to the NHL. It doesn't surprise me that he had success early, then stumbled and was never able to get out of the rut of inconsistency. How many kids make it to the NHL at the age of 18? Barrasso is one i can think of. Most goalies don't hit their peak until his age or even older. I am leaning towards thinking the kid just needed a fresh start and fresh eyes working with him.

Personally, I wish they have Lavi a month or fired him last year. While Lavi failed to adjust, I don't think he was the biggest problem. I still feel the mix of players is off and I can't pinpoint one or two guys as the issue. I don't think it's a question of talent either.

I definitely don't think it's talent. I think it's a mix problem. Just looks at the early 2000s Rangers as an example.

barrasso right out of high school, which is remarkable. pretty sure MAF was 18...maybe 19.
