i dont think hemsky was even near him, i think he was playing short side and stopped the puck and hemsky just went to the net for the rebound... you could be right tho.. I wasnt focusing on maatta to notice the other things, I WAS noticing how they still arent shooting on PPs - nh4442

Interesting stat I saw. Penguins have allowed 5 goals in 4 home games while allowing 10 goals in 2 road games. Obviously it is a extremely low # of games to take seriously but it may be worth wild keeping an eye on.
I agree with a few comments above about seeing them play an entire 60 minutes would be nice but at least we got the W. - kgrpitt
Zatkoff hasn't been given a home start yet, it'll even out. |

plus 100. Kid has been great but he's made mistakes. He also turned the puck over in the neutral zone with a bad pass. I still think he is one of our top 6 on the roster. Everyone wants to trade Nisk to keep him and Nisk has been terrific. - dbell646
Yea he's going to make mistakes like last night but he does so much good I can live with it. His bad game is better than alot of guys in this leagues good games and he's only played 6 games. |

haha True story. Dude gets his first career start and doesn't deliver. I am sure he is itching for another start to prove himself. |

Thanks.
Do you not see him right beside him when he puts the puck in the net or are you just cementing my point for me? |

maatta had no idea he was there, I originally stated that he went to put the puck under flower but it bounced off him and hemsky came in and got the puck. Maatta had no idea hemsky was behind him.. how could he tie up his stick??
edit: they way u stated it, it was like hemsky and maatta were standing near each other when hemsky poked it in and maatta just wasnt tying him up |

Better situational awareness. Had he seen him, he could have tied up the stick. Had he shown better situational awareness, he would have seen him. Not a knock. Just an error that he'll have to worry about correcting. Knowing where the other guys are on the ice at all times is something the great players either are born with or learn quickly how to do. It makes all the difference in the world. |

Hemsky lifts his stick while Maatta is trying to push it back to Fleury and he scores. Hemsky is Maatta's responsibility there, not trying to find a lose puck to slide under the goalie. The defenseman can't take nobody in that situation.
You're right, he didn't see him, but he needs to. |

ill agree with this. When engels picked up Perron, maatta should have been looking around for the other winger |

Well heck, that sort of play usually gets you the unconditional love and adoration of 99% of this team's fanbase AND a Norris Trophy nomination in these parts! |

no no I was mad they scored, even if it was hemmer... I only cheer when he scores and makes sick plays against other teams - nh4442
Your infatuation with Hemsky is mind boggling. Usually, people have infatuations with GOOD players.

I think in general we were taking pylon lessons instead of checking defensively. Turnstyle #1, there you go sir have fun at our net, so nice to let you by again. |

If that is the philosophy, that explains why Engelland has dressed the last 2 games. |

I feel like I don't give enough credit to Crosby and Scuderi but I'd just be writing the same thing every day. |

I wouldn't want him in Pittsburgh at all. He is fragile; he isn't a scorer anymore. He is a skilled guy that doesn't do much anymore.

I know they are showing Engelland to try to trade him. But seriously, he is awful. Trade him for a 6th or 7th and be done with it. Bortuzzo has played too well to be sitting out games. Maatta and Engelland have no chemistry at all. |
