Scott has some game in him . Grigs floats around waiting for the puck instead of going to get it .By the time he does get it he passes it off like a hot potato and then skates off for a shift change. Pretty much his MO .
Lou is still a pretty decent goalie. - cabin

[quote=Nucker101]Luongo isn't that bad, not sure why that would be your final straw.
Ohhhhh come on, you trying to say Luongo has lived up to this contract ? No way should he be able to shut-out a team, but given the Sabres scoring difficulty I can see it happening. |

Forget the contract, Luongo is a more than capable goalie. Just because he has a bad contract and hasn't lived up to it doesn't mean he can't have a shutout. |

Not a lot of guys will ever actually live up to those retirement deals but for 5.3 mil a year thats a pretty nice cap hit for an elite goaltender. |

Torts system is like twice as aggressive as Vigneault's ever was. The Canucks try way less to preserve the 0-0 tie. |

It's looking that way. He needs to pretend he is in the jrs and just go all out (if he can) |

Yeah, once the team fully learns his system it should help him. Torts teams typically block more shots by opposing forwards much more than other teams do, and typically those are higher quality shots than defensemen. But the 2 man foecheck leaves opportunities for plenty of opposing odd man breaks. |

He's as good or better than at least 80% of the starters in the league. |

On a completely unrelated topic, the Sabres are starting to do things right off the ice. Bringing in a major airline for advertising is something that they should have done years ago.

To be fair, some guys just, especially young players aren't as energized when playing 4th line minutes with the grinder/tough guys. He should be in the AHL getting tons of minutes IMO. |

You're right, but unfortunately one of the worst rules in professional sports prevents this from happening. |

Meh not really. They play a tighter box in the d zone but I haven't noticed a marked difference in it. People will point to Burrows and Shredder going down but those were on the PK. Gonna happen.
Watching the Rangers struggle makes me wonder if the team was bad and Torts made it look better with a virgin tight system. Because the team sure hasn't done that whole 5 guys in the lane thing in Vancouver. |
