The system Torts ran in Tampa was an amazing things to watch! I remember him being completely outspoken regarding his hatred towards the "trap." He even said that his team would never play it as long as he was the coach in Tampa. There were games when they were sending in 3 guys on the forecheck. Fun to watch, but I guess you can do that with the stars that he had.

Its insane to see the Canucks actually forecheck once they have a lead. That rarely happened under Vig unless he was trying to pad the Twins stats in like the last 2 games of the year when they had the Art Ross.

They're very indecisive with the puck. They're making the right passes but they make it about a half second to a second too late. That's all on coaching. They're hesitating. They did it in the Islanders game as well. The only difference is that, no matter what they did last year, the Islanders aren't a very good team either so it didn't hurt them as much.

That kind of thing has to come from management. Coaches won't do it. The Canucks had the NW division on lock for like the last 7 years but Vigneault would never play someone under the age of 25 in a key situation despite all that room to play with in the standings.
