I don't get it. The Hawks had 12 SOG the first 7 minutes and the only momentum that the Blues got was due to a pair of weak penalty calls. Why shuffle the lines at that point?

And again, that is my issue. Hoss has been in the league a long time, goalies know to expect the quick release in most situations. He's really got to mix it up and the occasional fake (as long as it isn't of the Keith pump-fake variety) certainly shouldn't hurt.
