I hope he is ok but lets not gloss over a career that was made throwing hits to injure rather than get the puck.
- Beatle_john

Wow...to injure? You must be a mind reader. Maybe to intimidate and to cause turnovers when passes are made. Why you are at it, do you want to add anything about Konstantinov...you know he threw similar hits at the opposing players blue line.

Some of you guys crack me up. Karma is fine and dandy if it is a good clean check or even if he gets caught with his head down. Smashing someone into the boards as they see #55 on the back of the jersey doesn't fall into the catagory.

But trolls will be trolls. Open ice hitters are rare. Great if there in your team. The devil if not.

Am I a bad person? I actually enjoyed seeing Kronwall lying on the ice as if he were out of it. It's a shame the training staff got to him so quickly, he should have been lying there for a much longer time.

Headline should have read "Kronwall gets Kronwalled".
- Ogilthorpe2

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who thought that.

Don't get me wrong, it was a dirty hit. It crossed the line, and should (will) get dealt with by Shannaban. I do not however feel any sympathy for somebody who has made a living off making similar dirty hits (albeit at a time where they were not penalised so strongly, if at all)...

No. It can be up to 5. Anything less is a phone call. I believe the Canucks's Edler had an in person meeting but only given 3.
- Beatle_john

I have heard many times it's an auto 5 game if it's in person but I have heard of one other person bring up Edlers situation. Is there any chance Edler got 5 then appealed it and got it reduced to 3 ?

I don't think that an in-person means that it's automatically more than five, however to get five or more it has to be in person...

You know what the worst part of his situation is, that he didn't become paralyzed on the ice. It's too bad that had to happen to the human being, not the player. I hope you and other readers understand the difference.

Well... you are a Hawk's homer Troll, we understand you're too mentally challenged to add any meaningful dialogue. Now please go back to J.J's blog with some of the other bandwagon fans and don't let the door hit you in the arse.

Ogi Ogi Ogi.. Kronwalled by definition doesn't include drilling someone in the back. I know you are more intelligent than that. Sometimes that is the only way to get back at one of the best open ice hitters in the game for some.

If Laperierer got 5, I'm thinking 3-5.

- MedicineMan

Ogi is a well known troll. hes a bandwagon fan though, will deny it up and down like most hawks fans.

Those are not hits from behind... if you're skating with your head down a good hitter will sometimes make you pay. Some may be borderline, but they're not as dangerous as a boarding hit. Not any different than what Scott Stevens or any good hitter does.

The guy is no saint, he's definitely jumped at his fair share of those big hits, but that Hemsky example is not a bad hit. Havlat, more debatable, but I've seen people even call this hit dirty basically just because it's the same lineup:

2 games

stupid hit - but an even worse move by a vet D man putting himself in such a horrible position.

truth is, kronwall should have just taken the hit and put the puck behind the net. he tried to get out of the way, and it made things worse.

stupid move by cody to continue to hit when the numbers were showing, so yea, 2 games to think about how stupid that was.

glad kronwall is ok.

- big_dion

Agreed. Pretty reckless on Mcleod, pretty damn stupid on Kronwall.

Sure..that is the difference. And and intellectually honest hockey fan knows the difference between a hit from behind and an open ice hit/some guy skating up the ice with his head down looking at the puck.

Sometimes using absurdity to demonstrate absurdity helps the confused connect the dots....sometimes, not always...especially if the Hockey IQ is below 90.

At least you honest and it helps explain how your bias clouds your ability to differentiate.

I admit, there are players I can't stand and wouldn't mind seeing crunched. Perry comes to mind. Pronger....do I want them crunched with a major penalty? Nah. I rather have it be clean. Maybe it is the hockey purist in me. That is just me.

I love if how everyone talks "borderline hits". How subjective. One would think after 10 years and countless complaints to the stripes if they were so borderline they would equal more time in the box. How many majors has he gotten? How many suspensions? The guy has been in the league over 10 years. He has a nack (like a Brad Stuart) to intimate from the Blue Line.

Gloat all you want and no posts from people like me are gonna change ones mind. It just doesn't compute if one wants to look at it from a hockey perspective.

YOU ARE A BAD PERSON, Your a total (frank)ing douchebag. Being a wings fan im not even going to get into the debate of whether all kronwalls hits are totally clean, I will say that even when he hits someone and they stay down. I NEVER EVER HOPE THEY ARE INJURED YOU (frank)ING bumhole, Blackhawk fans can get me pissed off but typically its just because your teams good and there is a good rivalry and we talk trash, we all do it... but to say you wish he had been laying there longer without trainer help? (frank) you. If you believe in karma and think kronwall got what he deserved, then you being this much of a spite filled hateful person should really give you some bad karma.

Mine what? Is that the Detroit area education at work?

I don't believe in Karma, I just think if the league cannot control players, then sometimes they need situations where they are controlled. Him lying on the ice might make him think next time. At least it might make him stay on the ice when he goes to make his next check.

You say you don't believe in karma ? Well... there are some low I.Q. Hawk's fans that have posted "karma's a b**ch" referring to this hit on Kronwall. Which is bascally saying he deserves to get hit from behind and a possible career ending injury. This implies that you condone this kind of hit to teach people a lesson. That is complete stupidity... just as is your statement you wish he could have laid there injured a little longer.

I've heard the same "karma is a b**ch" comment from a couple of Hawk's fans on J.J.'s site with regard to Konstantinov and the the car wreck which ended his career. Only a complete d-bag would say something like that. Yeah... stay classy over there.
